Hello Staff @ ripoffreport.com ~ I believe there are 2 sides to every pie. this is the reason I am replying to their false report. Please put this rebuttal up, for people to make their own Judgement. This was a 16 year old birthday party and they tried to charge for cocktails as well, adult prices. that is illegal. And if they claimed to serve 16 year olds liquor, then they should be prosecuted Thanks Limo Bob Here are my 2 letters to Royalty and BBB in replying. Even BBB said this is a closed case. Royalty west was just mad because when i charged Stanley overtime for his limo rental, he got mad and acted like a drama queen, (He had a sex change). They are so cheap, they wont get hire a company to kill the rats. (After i stopped payment on the 1st check that they told me pay now or we close, I said this is a 16 year old birthday part how can it be 300 adults? are you service all these kids liquor????? if so your going to Jail!!!) i reissued thenm another check for 225 kids and 75 adults, and i wrote on the check this acknowledges payment in full, and they cashed it! Now what does that tell you. here is a copy of my 2 letters to these people who have ripped off people for a decade, and they have no business after being closed for rats! i dont know how they reopend this place???? Dear Helena & Christina, 8/4/07 Royalty West Banquets, I would first like to say I didn't appreciate that big girl that rudely walked up to my wife at the party and said quote: Either pay this bill now, or this party wont start!!! then My wife Mo came up to me and told me this. Then that beast came in my face and told me the same thing!!! Then I asked her for us to walk down into the office, she was rude, and I told her that I was friends with the owners and have been for a couple decades, and I have had several parties here, and I never had to pay until the end of the night. I asked her to wait until after dinner to get a head count first. she said pay now, or get out!!!!!!!!!! I was shocked to see this fabricated bill!!! I told the beast that Helena & i had agreed when i personaly called her myself several weeks before the party that this is a 16 year old birthday for my son. Helena said to me all kids under 21 that don't drink will be the kids rate (Not 12 and under) under 21 period! and Helena you know it. Then i asked the beast, who does she think she is billing me for 275 adults? This is a kid party mostly! she didn't care, she told me to write the check, and she didn't want to hear it, and if i didn't write the check, she was closing down the party right now! I had no choice at that time. Even the bathroom kids insisted that i pay him and the bathroom girl, and Sondra said that it was suppose to be on Royalty, and that is when i just gave them 100.00 each to the guy. (Only to see that we were charged on the bill for bathroom and Vallet parking) they all wanted more money from me. What nerve???? Here is what I agreed to pay for this party!!! $2,775.00 = 75 adults (21 years of age and over) $3,000.00 = 200 kids (Under 21 years of age) and you know this Helena. I spoke direct with you! $ 450.00 = Appetizers ________________ $6,225.00 = Total agreed price. $ 482.44 = Tax @ 7.75 % _________________ $6,707.44 = Grand Total $ 823.43 = This is the Tips you charged me for the staff ( I will leave the tips alone, I'm a good tipper) __________________ $7,530.87 = Total Tips and all - 900.00 = tips I paid in CASH to your staff, ask all 8 waitresses, 3 Bartenders, and 2 bathroom boy & Girl. _________________ $6,630.87 = Net due to Royalty West! $ 538.50 = Cake _________________ $7,169.37 = Net Due $ 22.00 = Balloon 16 year old. _________________ $7,191.37 = Grand Total Due to Royalty West. I spoke to Christina a week before the party. I asked her if she would make the place look real nice because TV was covering this party and she said that they would drape the chairs and table clothes, stair case, valet, and bathroom people we ON HER! I didn't want Valet and bathroom people, and she said it was complimentary for us, she even told my event quardinator this too. I am very disappointed in you all at Royalty West! I have sent many people to you all. I have had several parties with you myself. it was my favorite landmark in Chicago. it is no longer!!! I really can't believe that you would GANGSTER me like this. Even when I came to see you Helena, the morning after the party, you deny even talking to me? you said I must have talked to Christina. You know dam well I spoke to you several weeks before the party, and you told me I was down in your books and the party is on, after you gave me the rate in front of my wife and kids on our speaker phone at home. this is why you never had me sign a contract, because you know me. You have simply become desperate for money, and you are all ripping off the public now! GREED!!! Here is a Check for the proper amount we agreed on. This is the only and final payment you will receive from me. I have stopped the payment on the check that you FORCED me to write out on the spot, at the very beginning of the party. Well you just did, and I think the courts wont take this lightly. But in any event, I will respond to your threats to me by answering the letter I received from Royalty. I ordered the party over the phone is correct! I didn't have to confirm because you Helen told me we were all good to go, and the date is locked in and set! Helen, you gave me the prices over the phone, my wife and kids heard it all on SPEAKER PHONE. The price of 15.00 came off your menu and is written for kids 12 and under, But you gave me anyone under 21 WHO CANNOT DRINK will be kids price. (Knock, Knock, this is a 16 year old birthday party). I have spent plenty of money on the castle in the past for parties. and you always wanted payment at the end. This time you were desperate for money, so you padded the bill (DOUBLE) that is why your beast demanded the money even before dinner, you knew you were out to get me. did you check ID's for Kids? to really see how many were there? these kids do stand about 6 feet tall and when dressed you may think they are older? but they are NOT! ~ NO! that is why the police came twice, a whole squadron. ~ your to money hungry! I had 2 previous parties in the past that's right. I paid you at the end of the event and had no problem with it. this is the first time you charged me up front, and now I see why you did, you would have not gotten away with this if it were at the end of the night, I would have disputed it, and you know this. If you wanted this in writing, all you had to do is call me and it would have been, you never asked once to get it in writing, you said I was booked and we are good to go, you even said (See you at the party!). and you know it! (This is why you had the party, you knew it was booked, and I did call and speak with Christina to confirm and at no time did she ask me to come in and sign a contract ! Never!). Quit lying! Proof of speaking to you: Well I booked the party RIGHT? let your phone records show it. how else would I have booked the party? Are you denying that I didn't tip your people? did you asked them? I am very generous to all I deal with, but if you try and rip me off, I wont allow this, and now you have been paid in full. I paid you for what we verbally agreed to, (You charged me for more people than was really there I paid you for and I still paid you for your over quote!) and I paid for way more than I asked for. Your valet didn't exist, and was suppose to be on you also. (Quoted to Sondra) and your bathroom people gangstered me for a 100.00 each more late in the night as well. (Quoted to Sondra as well) 15% of 7,000.00 is what I paid your people in cash and you then double dipped me on the bill. That is a desperate attempt to gangster your patrons. My Version of the bill is FACT! Please don't tell me I pretend to be whatever! it is you kids and your spouses that all work for Mommy and Daddy and your all fighting over money (Because you all don't make enough charging people the right way) so you all are sneaky and that is why you never wanted a contract with me ROBERT STRAUSER ~ This was your way of charging me up front, muscling me up front to write out a check or like the beast said, this party will never start IF I DONT WRITE OUT THE CHECK NOW!!!! What else was I suppose to do? let you all ruin my sons party, I don't think so! don't worry what was given to me from others, that doesn't concern you. (As you call it the entertainment) Just worry about the way you charge people in the future. your reputation can be destroyed if you do business like this Word of mouth is everything. I use to love your castle, but now, I hate your castle and everyone of you. and as you threaten me with physical violence on the phone and then tell me that your telling MTV and all the press, I invite you to do both if you wish. for I love the media, and I would love to answer their questions one by one, and have them let the entire Chicagoland area know that the Royalty West double charges patrons, so beware if you ever think of booking an event there. I have been around and in biz for over 35 years and I do well thank you. I love the press, and they love me! PS, I should have known to beware of you desperate people when once upon a time Stanley was getting married and invited my wife and I, and then booked a limo, and when it came time to extend the time on the limo (Overtime) we not only gave him the best rate and limo in town, but we gave him a great rate on the overtime charge. That is when he bitched and cried about us charging him for overtime (More hours than he booked) and refused to pay us for it. I let him off, for I knew he was cheap, and rather than making an issue of it, I said forget it, But this was not before Stanley (The cheapest cat in town) told my wife and I not to come to his wedding (ON THE DAY OF THE WEDDING) AFTER BEING ALL DRESSED AND READY TO ATTEND? We said people like this, the best thing to do is to stay away from him. But I gave his sisters a chance to make money, and now the moral of the story is: If they screw you once>..... what makes you think they wont screw you twice!!?? I am done with you all! Now either deposit the check I gave you and learn how not to scam your customers, then have FAKE lawyers try and intimidate people later on the phone, and do the right thing in life and the Godly thing, and get your deals in writing so you don't have this problem later. You have been paid in FULL! Tipped in full! and be happy I even paid you after trying to pull off a stunt like doubling my bill from 8,000.00 with tips to 16,000.00 with my cash tips included, on top of you charging me for tips again on the bill.
