Typical Collect America Franchisee. He preys on people who don't know their consumer rights. Employs slacker phone jockeys who don't follow the FDCPA, or maybe don't care if they abide by the law or not. This guy runs a FOR PROFIT troubled youth center....probably hoping to get to know his debtors in advance. Check out his website, and notice there is nothing about his dirty dealings w/ the collection world. Get these idiots on tape. I did, and now await his lawsuit which I'll meet w/ the abundance of FDCPA violations. Him and his greedy wife don't want to deal they just want the money any way they can get it. I tried to play fair, but unfortunately outfits like this don't, and quickly turned me into an angry consumer. File complaints w/ the BBB, FTC, your AG & CA AG. Don't let scumbags like this ruin your life.

Rachelle, File your FTC complaint online for the FDCPA violations. File a separate complaint for each violation. File a BAR ASSOCIATION complaint, as this guy is obviously a lawyer. He is violating the ethics clause of his license to practice law by knowingly engaging in illegal/unethical activity. As far as the BBB and the AG's office goes, that is a waste of time. The BBB is a useless and corrupt for profit business who has no legal authority to do anything, they only care about membership fees. The AG's office does not have the authority to act on your individual behalf. They do not have jurisdiction over debt collectors. The FTC does. Unfortunately, the FDCPA is a toothless tiger. The only way to get enforcement under its provisions is a civil lawsuit.
