Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I received a letter in the mail today telling me that my account has been closed which to me was wrong because I was using this card to help me during the month I am a single mother and when money is tight I always use my card to help me get by it even helped me during hurricane season my credit line started out at $250 I paid it on time and it went up to $600 my balance was $576.05 I sent them $60.00 which was alot for a single mother but I knew I would have it for later in the month now what I am suppose to do I really depended on this card and this what they think of me.

"we must regretfully inform you that we are discontinuing your salute visa gold program.Consequently,we have closed your account to new transactions and may refuse to authorize any new transactions effective immediately. Please note that even though your account will be closed to new transactions, you will remain obligated to pay us at least the minimum required payment on your existing balances and any new balances in a timely manner. If you have a balance, you will continue to receive monthly Salute Visa Gold billing statements and to be assessed an account maintenance fee as set forth in your cardholder agreement. The account maintenance fee can be avoided by paying in full your outstanding account balance.

Please tell your utility companies, internet providers and other retailers or merchants to stop any automatic charges to your account immediately. You will remain liable for any such charges that may be posted to your account. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause."

I truely feel they made us use our SSN as a way to force us to pay the balance on our accounts however, credit or not I refuse to pay another dime I am a single mother with a child in school,I am in college myself, and I have other bills to worry about they took away the only thing I rely on to make it through the month and they took it away.I truly wish an Attorney would take this case and trust me I will be your star witness.

Please help us get this company before they attempt to get new victims just because they terminated our card program do not mean they won't try it under a new business name.Something has to be done they have all of our person information especially our SSN's Please Please Please prosecute them.Thank You in Advanced!!!!!!!!!!

Salute Visa Card Program

Gail, I totally agree with you and understand how you feel. I recieved my card in 2008 and have never missed a payment plus I always more than the minimum amount. In November 2008, I recieved a letter from Salute telling me that my credit limit has been increased due to my excellant payment history. Come January 2009, I enter their site to make a payment and notice the credit limit is at $0. Of course I wonder whats up so I call customer service and they tell me they have discontinued that particular program. Of course I was upset, not because of the loss of the card, but the manner in which they decided to cancel. I let them know what I thought and hung up. Now, I realize that they they have the option of closing accounts at any time at their own discression. So be it! What has really got me pissed off is that they continue to report the account as open and current, along with my credit limit and balance, to the credit bureaus!! I've disputed this information with the bureau's but they can't seem to get it resolved! There's obviously some kind of hanky panky going on over there! Anyway, I wanted to let you know that there are other programs out there for us credit challenged folks. One really good one is First Premier Bank of South Dakota. They have good rates (9.9 percent) Good Luck! - Doug
