I realize that the Salvation Army proceeds are to help their cause, but their thrift store in bath does not help the community in which it resides by charging almost as much for their donated items as the local retail store in Bath.

I shop in many of these stores in the western new york area having a limited income, and find that this particular "thrift store" is about 30 - 50% higher for items in their same thrift store both in Batavia and Rochester New York. These items first of all are donated items and ANY money they make on them will help their cause, but more importantly the people who shop there, do so because they are on a limited income and most times cannot afford to shop at the only other retail in this particular area.

I strongly believe that they are pricing their items high just because people in this area really don't have a choice, it's either K-Mart or them. But come on, a bird cage for $59.00 that is all rusted? You can buy them new for $39.00. A small stuffed Kangaroo for $2.99 when you can buy it brand new in K-mart for $3.96? No wonder they have so much merchandise in this particular thrift store. How about they help out the depressed community they are located in by lowering their prices to thrift store pricing again?
