San Joaquin Valley College Owe 2k? Fresno California
I went to this campus after getting out of the Navy since it was close to my last duty station. I lived in Merced and would commute daily to this campus and got amazing grades and passed my courses. Even made the Dean's list while I was here. While attending I used my post 911 GI Bill. What that basically means is that all my college tuition is paid in full . I know because I have gone to community college since then, and grabbed my associates with less hassle than going here. I left with one more course to take due to finding a job and so I dropped on request. I didn't see the point in completing it if I had obligations to attend to in order to pay bills and take care of the family.
Later SJVC said I owed them over 2k. I asked them what for and they said I owe them because I didn't finish. I told them that the VA never told me anything and if they needed money then they needed to contact the ones that have been paying for my education. They didn't want to hear that and said if I don't pay them then they will send me to collections and they did. The collections department were complete bullies and acted like a straight bails bondsman. Saying pay up or were going to have issues and I owed them something. I never got a degree from this college so I never saw the need to owe them anything especially if I wasn't paying out of pocket to begin with. Since then my credit has been ruined by this college and that alone pisses me off more than anything. Veterans please DO NOT go here. Use your hard earned GI bill somewhere else.
