My car loan payment was made through their online payment option at their website. My checking account was debited 2 car payments. This action promptly took my checking account to near zero balance. When my other checks written reached the bank, they took my account negative causing an excessive amount of over draft fees.
When contacted, they freely admitted it was their mistake and credited back to my checking account the amount of the extra car payment. When pressed and provided with documented evidence of the overdrafts, they agreed to reimburse that amount (in excess of $450.00) as well. Two weeks have passed. No refund. Santander claims my refund is still in processing.
They tenaciously attack any debtor that is may be only one day late, however they give their creditors the run-around.
It is not like they can't afford decent service, next season they are sponsoring both the Ferrari and McLaren Formula One teams. Formula One sponsorship at this level is usually in the order of hundreds of millions of dollars.
