I drive a two year old piece of crap! Right after 37000 miles, my 2005 Saturn Ion lost it's power steering permanently. I figured such a repair would cost a couple hundred dollars or a few hundred dollars! NO! Try $1100! Saturn boasts about it's "state of the art" Electronic Power Steering System that does not require any power steering fluid, but don't be deceived by their lies. The service adviser at Saturn of Tempe informed me they have had lots of issues with the power steering system, I was just one of the unlucky customers who had it happen after the warranty expired.

I contacted Saturn Corp to see if they could go ahead and cover this repair, they wouldn't cover it, I then offered the meet them in the middle on the cost. Their unhelpful area supervisor "Rita" for Arizona would not budge 1 penny. I found her to be very unprofessional and even rude. "We are sticking to our position" she said over and over again.

Well, since I drive a car without power steering, I am driving a weapon of mass distruction and I hope that I don't lose control of my vehicle and injure or kill someone, or myself. If I do, the media will here about Saturn and their "state of the art" power steering system that kills.

A note to anyone who is thinking of buying a Saturn! You noticed a few months ago they were lining up their Saturn Aura against Toyota Camry and Honda Accord, showing how it was a more superior car then the other two and a lower price. Just keep this in mind:

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR

Just line up these three cars when they each have a 100,000 miles on them, and then see which cars are superior. Hondas and Toyotas have been known to last up to 400,000 miles, while Saturns are lucky to last 70,000 miles.

Don't believe Saturn, don't believe their sales people, their cars are even worse than the average American Car. They are not worthy to stack up against Honda or Toyota, they are not even worthy to stack up againts Mitsubishi or Nissan. They may be able to stack up against the Kia Rio, or the Hyundai Accent.

Saturn is a company full of lies.

If anyone has had issues more specifically with power steering on your new saturn, please post your story on the ripoff report and report it to the

www.dot.gov. This may lead to a government mandated recall.

And for your next car: DO NOT BUY A SATURN!!!

The Cost of Procrastination

Saturn has failed to respond to me within a decent time frame, so now it's going to cost them. I now have posted a video on YouTube of my car losing it's power steering 3 times while trying to get out of the parking lot. I want everyone to see this for themselves. Go to YouTube and type in "painful saturn ion." If you are thinking of buying a Saturn, watch this video and really let it sink in. If I am having these problems so early in my car's life, what problems could your Saturn have? Also keep in mind that Saturn will not even go as far as at least negotiating on the price of the repair ($1100) even though the problem just occurred RIGHT AFTER the warranty expired. Also keep in mind that this is a common problem in Saturn vehicles according to what the Service Advisor stated to me at Saturn of Tempe. Remember: Saturn does NOT compare with Honda, Toyota, or Nissan. They state they do in some of their commercials from time to time, and they even carried a Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, and Saturn Aura at each of their dealerships so customers could test drive each one and feel the difference in the Aura. The big flaw in that comparison is that each vehicle is brand new. They should do a comparison in a few years from now between all three of those cars when they each have over 100,000 miles racked up, then we'll see how the Aura stacks up against the Camry and Accord.

No Response from Saturn

Apparently Saturn is ignoring me and ignoring this problem, they must understand that their procrastination will cost them. I noticed some people have been placing videos on You-tube about how bad their Saturn is, I have a brilliant idea now!! Are you still thinking about buying a Saturn after reading this report. See my Saturn on video (available in December), and then you'll be convinced that SATURN CARS ARE CRAP!
