I strongly advise against using this company service.

Used them in 2015. Everything went fine in the beginning.

Good customer service, advisible agent and everything was smoothly prepared.

The chaos began when the car was shipped. They totaly lost control of the shipment.

Car was shipped to different port then agreed with a big delay and all additional costs were passed to me.

Changing port destination resulted in

- higher port costs

- additional documentation cost (T1 documents)

- additional transportation fees by land to another country

- delay in time

- documents lost for a couple of days

- lots of stress

After changing the port destination they did not even have a reliable company to take care of the transport.

They changed it after realizing it will cost them a little bit more money. This resulted in documents being stucked.

The documents deliver was delayed because of Schumacher poor and cheap handling which resulted

in again me having to cover additional costs.

I had to chase the transpor vendors by myself and track my car documents to find out that they sent it with regular cheap mail...

The car delivery to customs needed to be delayed thenas I needed to get the documents first...

Car secure parking costs for a couple of days were passed to me again.

Car delivery took them 3 months in total.

After many complains they agreed to cover some of the additional costs but NEVER DID just ignored my further complains.

Amateur handling.

After the car is shipped they do not care anymore and will only think about reducing their costs at the expense of the client.

Almost 15 Months After the Shipment

#2REBUTTAL Owner of company

Wed, September 07, 2016

As a company who works hard to deliver promises within the international logistics industry, to receive such a negative rating more than a year after the shipment was completed is disappointing to say the least.

Your own correspondence the day after you received the car is below - sent to us the day you received the car on June 1st 2015. It seems like you were happy with everything at the time. The driving factor of your complaint is that you had additional destination fees of $200, which we explained in detail at the time.

As we discussed at the time of your email, we said that we would refund the difference between the new agents fees and your quoted fees- this was approx $200 in total. For most shipments that accrue some additional charges, this figure rarely raises this type of malicious result.

Considering that we expedited the shipment via Germany to have your car delivered to you as soon as possible - we never lost control of any aspect of the shipment. This was a fast and accurate shipment, you can see the timeline below as well. What you did not understand was the customs process and organization we had to put in place to safe guard the transition of your car from German customs, through to Polish customs. Your opinion on how we handled this is perspective, and not accurate to the reality of what had to happen, all to your benefit.

Anyone reading this who has shipped cars overseas will know the timeline involved.

Every destination is different. Poland is not a popular destination for shared container service, this is why we routed your car via Germany, which is a very common entry port for a lot of EU countries. We offer a shared container service to over 80 destinations worldwide, which is the service you chose due to the competitive nature of the quote. The time frame is never guaranteed and you were aware of this from the start.

We did understand your frustration due to a delay, however that is part of consolidation and international logistics. It seems like nothing we did would have appeased you and to insinuate that we purposefully rerouted your shipment (which added additional "no charge" hours of coordination with overseas agents from our operations department, not to mention documentation filing) simply to charge you a few hundred dollars extra is just false.

Hi Schumacher,
REF# HOU0033227
I got the car and personal goods on 1st June and everything looks good. Thank you!
The last thing is the matter of additional costs I was forced into due to the lack of proper organization.
* There was no lack of proper organization- this was an international shipment of a vehicle from Houston to Bremerhaven port in Germany, where it had to be customs cleared and then re directed legally to Poland where it needed to be customs cleared yet again, using a T1 import document. We did all this professionally and to the letter of the law.
The deal was to transport the car to Gdynia (Poland) by sea.
* The deal was to ship your car from Houston to Poland- we did that. The fact that it was routed via Germany is a standard logistical process that we as your freight forwarder chose to expedite your shipment. Shared container service is what you chose, and this is part of that process.
I understand that you have changed plans due to lack of containers to Gdynia that's okey with me.
* Here you agree with the situation
What I don't understand is the three additional costs that occurred on my side and should be covered by Schumacher.
* The additional charges amounted to $200 to account for the transport of your car with an agent who could service the shipment in Germany
* Plus some additional customs documents needed to cross the border
* These were all explained to you at the time

The time line of the shipment is below as well:
ORDER HISTORY:
03rd March - delivered to Schumacher in Houston [not even mentioning 1.5 month before shipping the car...]
15th April - sent from Houston
03rd May - arrived to Germany
08th May - unloaded in Germany
19th May - change transport company from Pangaea to LPL
21st May - documents sent by Pangaea from Germany
29th May - documents arrived to Poland (Friday evening)
01st June - car delivered to Poland by LPL for customs clearance

We unfortunately could not include everything in detail but we'll happily discuss further whenever you like.

Regards,

Schumacher Cargo
