I ordered 1 coil of stamps from whom I thought was Stamps.com. Now my credit card has been billed twice for a 15.99 charge for "Stamps.com Pro Plan". They are a fraud and I would encourage people not to buy stamps on line because of this. Even though the postal service encourages people to buy stamps on line, for some reason this fraudulent company SCI*stamps.com gets your information and starts billing your credit card for a monthly service fee of 15.99. For what I don't have a clue. Last night I called and immediately received 3 emails from (Stamps.com Account support

I agree with poster... I read the fine print (or so i thought) and they snuck this on my credit card.  Here i just wanted to try it out.. and you give them money to print a few labels... 15.99 is a ripoff, and they DID SNEAK IT.. Even if you mail 5 packages a month dont bother with this.. now i have to get my money back, cancel my account, and try to get the money down on shipping I gave them.. If they dont give it back so help me god, i'll be back here to report it.. I WOULD SAY, STAY AWAY UNLESS YOU LIVE IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE AND ARE A NEANDERTHAL.

Stamps.com is an Internet postage provider service similar to a couple of others, such as, Endicium which does charge a monthly fee depending upon which plan a person selects.  The Pro plan is $15.99 per month, their Premier plan costs $24.99 a month, and they do have a 3rd plan called the Enterprise plan which is advertised as being ideal for small businesses.

I'm a little puzzled though, as to just how you managed to end up enrolled in their Pro plan unless you somehow went through the enrollment process.  You can purchase coils of stamps directly from the U.S. Postal Service on their website at usps.gov and there is no monthly service fee involved like there is with Stamps.com.  They only charge for the stamps + shipping costs.

At this point...if you have not already done so...you need to contact Stamps.com to have them cancel any subscription to their service you may have inadvertently ended up on.  I also have another phone number for them which I used to cancel a subscription I had with them.  The number is 1-310-482-5800.

Hope this may be of some help.

Stamps.com IS a ripoff

But they ARE a ripoff.  WAKE UP PEOPLE.

1.  NEVER do business with any online company that needs a credit card for a "free" anything.  If it's FREE, there is no need to provide a credit card.

2.  NEVER do business with any online company that YOU have to contact THEM to cancel after your trial period.  IF they want your business, they will contact you after the trial.

Free trials that have to be cancelled by the consumer are the biggest internet ripoffs EVER!

As a long time happy customer of Stamps.com, I feel the need to respond to the comments of Cookie from Pasadena, Maryland. Cookie, you need to read more carefully before you sign up for something. When you purchase a roll of stamps from Stamps.com, you are also signing up for their service. The service fee is $15.99 per month. It was very clear to me that there was a monthly fee involved when I signed up, and it also should have been very clear to you had you slowed down and read the information provided. Stamps.com is a great service for small or large businesses. For someone who just wants to print a few stamps, I wouldn't recommend it, you are better off to just go to the post office and buy some stamps. Why would you want to pay a monthly fee just to print a few stamps? In addition to being able print your own postage stamps, businesses can keep track of their shipments, add delivery confirmation, insurance, ship international packages and many other services. I am more than pleased with their service as well as their tech support and customer service. You have bad-mouthed a company that does not deserve it. You are the one at fault here, Cookie, not Stamps.com.
