Seawest Financial dirty unprofessional harrassing ripoff so called company Columbus Ohio
I purchased a car through a buy-here, pay-here company in June 2001. I made my payments to them for 7 months. One day I went in to make my payment and they informed me they sold my account to a different finance company(Seawest Financial) because I had a good payment record, this would help me build my credit. Well a month went by, still nothing from Seawest informing me they now had my account, or where to send my payment, nothing. So a couple more weeks went by when I had to call information to get their phone number. I called them to make a payment and get their address. This raised a red flag for me so I called the BBB to get a report, and boy did I get one, unsatisfactory, numerous complaints, involuntary repossession, the list goes on.
They never sent me anything in the mail so I resorted to pay check by phone every other friday, well they began calling me on Tuesday telling me my payments were due on Wednesday, which they were not, but I had late payments because I was paying on Friday, they would call evwerday reminding me my payment was due,like I didn't know this.Well this went on, then I began asking what my payoff was, and it never seemed to go down like in 6 months of payments my account only went down a little not even a hundred dollars. So I done some research on the car and the blue book value was only $1,092.00 I had already paid $3,600.00 on this car.So I decided they already had my credit jacked up with late payments, and I felt the car was already paid for, so I called and told them I would not be making anymore payments to come get the car.
That was in Feb., these rude, incompenent people call my house and harrass me every single day, they have been told repeatedly to come get the car, and they won't, they say they do not want the car they want the money, they money they have already gotten three times over. They threaten me daily with garnisment of my wages, but never with repo. I can't understand why they just won't come get the car. I was so overwhelmed when I found this web-site, to see all the other people, that they have ripped off, it just makes me wonder how they are even in business. I think there needs to be a class action lawsuit against them.
P.S. They changed their phone number in this time frame, now when you call the BBB, it says to make a complaint you have to call Calafornia's BBB because that is where their main office is.I think they cleared up the complaints they already had then had it fixed that way so unsuspecting consumers can't call and check them out.
