Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Secret of the Islands is a Salt Scrub Company which advertises that it's product is "all Natural".  It's Not!  This oil in the Scrub is the heavest cheapest Soy Bean Oil which can be found at the time of  Bulk Purchase.  (Coconut oil is the best Oil to be used on your Skin.)

The "Secret" in Their scrub is that the ingrediants used are not "Natural" which is Advertised.  The scents are Not all Natural as they are a Chemical Blend.

The "shelf life" on the Jar's of sold product is about 90 day's.  This means the jars which are purchased could be near their spoiling experation.  There is not a manufatoring date on the jars so it is impossible to buy the freshest  scrub.  Once the scrub spoils, it smells like "Cooking Oil" and gets sticky.  Again it is Soy Bean Oil.

When you wash your Hands with the scrub, you have a greasy residue left on you.  It is so bad that Normal soap is needed to remove the greasy oil.  The grease coats your sinks and showers and tubs.  In some cases the grease will stain your bathroom facilities.  Slippery means liability!.  The product also is known to clog Drains.  The Company knows this and offers to pour drain cleaner down your drains.  It does not work and in some cases corrosion and replacement is needed.  This Company will fight you on who is responsible for this cost.

Secret of the Islands has a History of firing their employees who work the hardest.  You see, the harder a sales representative works, the more commission this employee makes.  This Company lets these employees go, after a territory is "built up".  The Company no longer has to pay commissions to that employee and the company pockets this money.   Secret of the Islands claims the individual employee is Falseifying paperwork or stealing from the company and then fires that employee.  This Same activity has occured to every employee which has done well and this is documented.  The Company always claims to be the victim.

The owner of this company is a convicted Felon for Bank Fraud.  All these records are open to the Public, just google Johnny Hoy in South Carolina.  When the Employee is fired, the Company refuses to pay them their last commissions and expenses.  Basically, Secret of the Islands Uses their Employees, fires them, and the Steals from them.

Secret of the Islands has many Lawsuits filed against former employees and former Business' which once carried their product.  If a Business who carries Secret of the Islands Product line, decides to drop the scrub and move in another direction, Secret sues this Company for breach of Contract.

Look elsewhere Folks.  Secret of the Islands is a Nightmare.  It wrecks drains and property.  It is a Liability because of it's greasy slippery residue. It treats employees and it's own clients horrible.

Secret of the Island Salt Scrub is Drama.  Run away

Secret of the Islands Salt Scrub Warning...

#2Author of original report

I Read the rebuttal to the original post which had been made a year ago.  The orginal Post is "Dead Nutz" accurate in it's explenation to how the Company makes it's salt scrub, treats it's employees, ruins plumbing of it's customers, Law suits with employees, and the Owner, Johnny Hoy being a criminal.     All this can be varified by using Google.  It's free and makes for interesting reading.

The rebuttal was written by Joann the CEO.    She is the EX-girlfriend of the real owner Johnny Hoy.   He keeps everything out of his name because He has no credit and is a Felon for Fraud!   She owns "on paper" 51 percent of the Company.  But make no mistake, Johnny owns it and runs it.  .  She has NO say in who gets fired or hired.  Johnny hires all...mostly illegal Mexicans who work at his back door warehouse. Columbia, SC.  They mix the Salt with Soy Bean oil in orange plastic cement mixers which were purchased at Harbor Frieght.

Johnny is  being sued again by several past employees and was just in a another law suit where he lost on a non compete ruling in the Florida Keys.  Johnny has Thousands  and Thousands  Dollars buried on a Farm in lower Michigan.  His uncle died and left him the property and assets.  All of this information is in the hands of the Federal Government at this time. Johnny's Family are also in the Salt Business but have not talked to Johnny in years because he Stole from them too.  This relationship has gotten better since Johnny has been giving them some money.  Johnny has at least 1 airplane which He travels out of the Country with. This is also a violation as He is a Felon.  All this information is documented and passed on to the approprate agency.

Do yourself a favor, do not buy this product.  Do not get involved in this scam.  It will ruin your plumbing.  There are so many other quality salt scrubs on the market.  This product and Company is a scam.

#3REBUTTAL Owner of company

Fri, March 20, 2015

Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, the information you have outlined regarding the product, company structure, and senior management are inaccurate. I am Joanne Bolos, CEO and president of Secret of the Islands. As a woman entrepreneur, I pride myself on a quality product with all-natural ingredients.  Over the years, I have built my company's brand and established accounts nationwide.  I have maintained a great relationship with all my accounts and customers, and if any of them have complications with my product, me and my team are quick to work with them to find a resolution. I stand behind my product, my customer service, and most importantly, my team.

As the CEO and president of the company, it is my decision who to hire and put into management positions within the company. All people make mistakes and I am a believer of giving people second chances. So as part of the hiring process, we look at the individual based on their qualifications, work performance, and dedication to the company. However, I would like to clarify that the allegations that a sales manager is the "owner" and CEO is inaccurate.

While I am unable to go into specifics to a 3rd party regarding another terminated business relationship, my phone lines are open to you if you would like to discuss my companys policy.  Feel free to contact me 877-929-7258
