Secure Asset Management is a property asset company that works for banks in preparing forclosed properties for resale. We were hired by SAM, Inc. to paint the interior of a home in Boca Raton. We were told to get started on the job right away as they were behind schedule as their previous painter bailed out and if the work wasn't completed soon the bank would pull the property. We started on a Sunday, we bought a high quality paint and was told it had to be a neutral color. We spent the next 4 days painting the interior of the large home. We were visited on the 3rd day and the owner of SAM shows up with a release for me to sign saying the bank won't allow us to go forward without signing it. Against my better judgement I signed it. I did know better and blame myself. The next day we were told that we had to do extra work that wasn't on the work order and that the color of the paint wasn't neutral. It was beige, i don't know how more neutral you can get?

Finally, when we are 90% complete he tells me that the paint is wrong and the whole property needs to be repainted. I saw the scam and decided to no take a further beating and walk away. I am sure they got the painting finished by someone else for a fraction of what we were to be paid. And I am sure that the bank sold the property with and financed it with the money my taxes bailed them out with. Am I angry? Yes. Do I blame myself for signing a release? ABSOLUTELY.

There's a reason this owner drive up in the latest Jaguar and his wife drives a brand new Land Rover. They are scamming the people who need the work the most.

If you see them drive up. Run.

Re: Robert Brannen: Committed to work in the property preservation industry understanding quality is inportant for our client, (we would not baby sit him). Trust and integrity are our policy.

The quality of his work was poor on some of his jobs. He thought he could get away with poor workmanship. All properties are inspected, photos are required.

He would not complete the work according to the written work orders. He would leave debris, not clean the properties according to the guideline. When THE WORK IS NOT done according to the client expectation , we are called back and only  have 24 hours to get the job complete which is fare.

Robert was called several times due to poor workmanship.

When the office contacted Robert and requested to go back and complete the work, Robert was rude and refused.

It left us no choice to call another contractor to complete the work. This company was Relieve Your Pressure. They can confirm Roberts poor workmanship.

Robert was sent checks for any work he completed on time  and with no issues. He decided not to cash the checks in the amount of $1200.00

Robert thought by hiring an attorney he would get additional money, however it did not work out that way. Our attorney and his attorney agreed he was paid in full so he had to return the checks and we paid out attorney Hagen and Hagen, Pa. the full amount of the checks which was in the anount of $1200.00

It goes to show you HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY.

First of all the original report and statements are False, the statements are one sided and not fully the truth. Southern Coatings (Patrick Brederman) was hired by SAM, Inc. as a professional painter he was recommended by an employee.
There agreement was to paint the interior walls, ceilings, baseboards and doors, all work is sent via email  in writing through our web site in a work order, there work order clearly stated the color of paint (neutral) Flat - Sherwin Williams Super Primer and paint, the brand is required by the client and expected by the contractor.
Before this company started any work, we met with him at the property with all the agreements (paper work) including a release of Lien which is required by our client and our company. This was Not done after he started the work as he stated. He was met by both owners of SAM, Inc. we both did a walk through of the entire property clearly explaining what was required by our client which included all walls be prepped before painting, which means nail holes, curtain rods holes etc., prep all windows, floors to make sure the property is left in good condition.
On the first day they started we noticed they did not prep the windows, sliding glass doors, in fact only one window had paper on it which was in the kitchen, we noticed they were already cutting corners, the second day no one was at the property, they left all materials on the living room floor and out side on the patio. Our client requires photos documentation everyday and progress photos to be sent in daily. This was required by the contractor. Also inspectors are hired to check all work daily.
The inspector notice the paint was not Sherwin Williams super paint. With that said, our company received a telephone call from the inspector stating we should come and look at the property they had sprayed the walls in some areas, and rolled in other areas with a GOLD color high Gloss paint, high GLOSS paint shows every flaw in the walls it shows damages that were not repaired by the painters, they should have used a 45 min mudd let it dry then sand, leaving the walls paint ready before staritng to paint, there were large drips on the walls, in the closets this painter elected to use a spray machine on some walls and rolled other walls, the walls did not look good at all very messy not blended they did not back roll absolutley a disasterThe job looked terrible cleary showing they were not professional and did not know how to use a paint sprayer. Patrick was immediately contacted by telephone and requested to meet us at the property. We explained the paint was a high gloss, our contract states Flat / nuetral color, only use a semi-gloss paint  for trim, baseboards and doors, the walls had large drips, this needed immediate attention and needed to be rectify today. Instead of responding like a professional, he proceeded to yell and screem refusing to go back to the property and fix the damage, he wanted his materials and no part of the job, said he quit and that was that... We hired a new crew immediately they were there within a few hours it took the new crew much longer due to the damage done Patrick & his crew, it took more time and cost extra money to scrap the drips repair the wall damage. What kind of car I drive should not be an issue in this matter this has NOTHING to do with Patricks poor workmanship. My clients are number one.. not a Contractor who does not stand by his word and leaves a poor quality job behind.
