Sell-Your-Cell.com Unethical business practices. Scam! Reno Internet
I chose the Sell-Your-Cell service because they gave me the highest estimate for my used iPhone. The estimate was approximately $160.00. I also like that they were willing to send me a box to ship it in. I filled out the online form and received an immediate email response saying that my box was on the way. I then received another email with a tracking numer for the box.
I received the box, sent the phone to them, and waited for a response. Within a few days I received another email saying that the phone had been received and that I would soon hear from them regarding its value.
Two weeks later I received an email stating that a check was in the mail. No amount was mentioned, so I found a way on their site to get to my account. I discovered that the check they sent was for only $22.00. I immediately called and asked why I had not been informed of the their devaualtion of my phone. I was told that an email was sent to me with the offer and that because I didn't respond within five day, they had the right to move forward.
I never received that email. I never agreed to their offer. I was not allowed to speak with a supervisor. I was just told, over and over again, that they sent me an email and so I would have to accept their payment.
Barring a lawsuit over a used phone, my only recourse is to warn people of this scam. What underhanded business practices! Please don't use their services, and please warn your friends about them as well.
