Complaint Review: Shop MRT - Plymouth Township Michigan

Incompetent service, very unprofessional and broke a few of my blades on my Audi R8. Also gave me an estimate of 800 and then charged me 1700, double of the estimate which is illegal in the state of Michigan. I went in to get a new exhaust put into my Audi R8, they told me on the phone it would be 400-500 dollars and I said ok great, as that is what I was told after googling a bit on some audi r8 forums. I went an hour to drop off the car, and when I got there he told me well its going to be about 800 bucks as we just looked over it and its going to take longer than expected, here sign this. So I agreed to it as I was already there and figured might as well go with them since they are a performance shop so I would assume they would do a better job, especially since this is an exotic 100k car.

Before leaving he wrote down my email as he was supposed to give me the invoice through email, I said ok sure. When I got home, no email, and no invoice was ever given to me, yet they started work on the car. This is also illegal in Michigan.

I called them on the second day asking for an update, he told me how there were thousands of little nuts and bolts and how they had to spend a lot of time organizing everything and double checking this and that. He also mentioned how they had no experience with an audi r8 and had to call capristo to get training on it. Blah blah, I was not really interested in this at all and just wanted my car to be done than some petty excuses. He told me they would be done next day, making it a 2 day job.

Then I waited for them to call me, no response, called them and he gave me the same sad story. Ahhh it took us forever to do, lots of issues with the bolts and it wasnt very easy, blah blah blah. Im like when can I pick up the car? He said tommorrow, which was thursday. Thursday came, nothing again, same excuse but now he sent me pictures showing how they are almost done. Im like whatever, but im coming this friday to get it. Friday comes, I get in my car and start driving, he texts me saying he just sent me the invoice over to my email. I check it on my phone, and it says 1750 with some loyal customer discount of 300, making it 1450 that I owe them? I agreed to 800, which ofcourse has a 100 or so leeway on it, but not double the price! Knowing this, I go to pick up my car, and they spend about 20 minutes dinkering with the exhaust functions as when I got there it wasnt working properly for them. But they finally did get it working and I went inside to pay. He handed me the new invoice and I told them that there was no way I was going to pay double to what I signed. I gave them 1,000 dollars and walked out of the shop as at that time I knew I was getting the run around as Im a young kid driving a nice car. 

Now thats only part of the story, the second part is I got a court order to appear because they told the court that I owe them another 860 dollars since the invoice they sent me was 1860. Which is completely false and a lie. They also lied numerous times on the report stating that they told me the exact price every phone call, and how it was being raised due to extra hours being put into the car. The entire report was complete nonsense and full of lies. I will be attendng court in a bit and revealing everything to the judge and hopefully show the true shadyness of this company!

Horrible experience, would highly suggest you avoid at all costs!
