Silverleaf Resorts ripped me off by deceptively selling me a timeshare that is unusable for me and other amenties that were said to be exclusive, but is offered to everyone . I purchased a red week for the summer (I thought) only to find out a week later they sold me one for October which I cannot use because of my work schedule.  At no time was the actual week mentioned to me or I never would have purchased it.  Nor were any exchange fees mentioned.

This supposedly  great deal was later told to me by their representative to have very little value since ownership was at a resort that was little known and had almost no exchange value.   I could only get out of that contract by upgrading which I did.  When I came to my sense, I immediately cancelled the second contract, but I am now stuck with the original contract.

All of this took place from July 3 2009 till July 24 2009.  I have contacted the company several times but all I get is the run around .  MY first payment is due in September and I am stuck with thousands of dollars of debt for something that is practically worthless to me.  So buyer beware of the high pressure sales technique they use and the lies  they tell you!!

Well I was in a similar situation .I called them first and  told them I wished  to cancel because of deceptive sales practices and I believe what they did was bait and switch and illegal. I also sent a certified letter to there complaints dept in Dallas TX (phone call worked this was just added insurance). They canceled my ownership and sent me all my $ back except for monthly dues. I really hope this helps you all. Also they will be rude about it just stick to your guns. also look up the web address for the secretary of state or attorney general of your state and check your consumer laws, see which ones they violated and state those. send certified letter as well.

best of Luck so in a nuttshell If you call the corporate office in Dallas,Texas and threaten lawsuit or that you will contact Attorney General, they will back down. You have to scream loud and long, they will cancel and possibly refund your money.
