Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I bought a car from this business on one condition that they will repair the dent in a car later after pay and pick up the car . I was promised that they will fix it later at my convenience . The deal is all documented and it's written in the contract . After they refused to fulfil their promise . I got ripped off ! Stay away from this business they will not hesitate to do the same to you !

Dear Customer and Future customers of Skyline Automotive,

Allow me to address the negative comments made concerning our former customer's position after purchasing a vehicle from us in August of 2014. The "written in the contract" portion of the deal that the customer is referring to is a section called the due bill wherein the document has a 30 day expiration, where in this case we agreed to smooth and repaint the dent of no more than a few inches near the rear of the vehicle for the customer, provided he brought the car back to us within the 30 day timeframe of the date of sale in order to complete the requested repair. In February of 2016, the customer contacted us, well over a year later, demanding that we make the repairs. We asked him why he hadn't brought the car back within the 30 days as outlined in the paperwork and he responded by saying he had been in prison for a while and had just recently been released. We expressed concern for his situation but explained that it unfortunately wasn't our fault that he had been incarcerated and we simply couldn't fix the vehicle for him this long after the purchase. He was very upset and threatened to do everything he could to make us look bad and suffer for not honoring the contract. We understand the stereotype against used car dealers and we work really hard to make sure the cars we sell to customers are in working order at the time of sale. However, I'd like to use this opportunity to make it clear that we are a USED car dealership. That means at any time, the car you buy from us could break down. Quite frankly, even new cars break down, sometimes very soon after buying them. That is the nature of an automobile-they wear down and break, especially over time. We cannot guarantee that the vehicle is going to last you 1 or 2 or 3 years problem free and when customers expect that from us, we feel it is very unfair and an unrealistic expectation to put on a car dealership, anywhere.

We do not deliberately sell broken cars and if something happens after your purchase we feel bad but we honestly did our best to try and sell you a working, running vehicle at the time of purchase. What happens after that is when the vehicle is in your care, and we didn't have the vehicle for the first part of it's life, all we know is the general condition at the time of our sale to you! We do make an effort to inspect every vehicle before we sell it to a customer, but there are thousands of parts on cars and to know the condition of each and every part and to be able to guarantee that it is in good and working order, and will continue to work for a long time is just something that I don't think any used car dealership does or is capable of doing. For all the unhappy customers out there we apologize, we weren't out to scam you in any way! We also have many repeat and very happy & satisfied customers! Please try to keep in mind that there are two sides to every story and hopefully this helps clarify this particular situation for people who are out there reading reviews about us! Thank you-

Skyline Automotive Team
