There are a few details missing in your report.
so why deceive the consumers and have two separate fees
- Sounds like it is the opposite. They are giving you the detail on exactly what you are paying for. If they wanted to "deceive" you they could just lump it all into one. Most companies contract out their deliveries, and that is what they are charged by that company. Also depending on your state Delivery may or may not be taxable. So in separating it out it makes it clearer as to what may need to be taxed. If you want to talk about deception, delivery is never "free". So any company that advertises "free" delivery has to make up for that cost somewhere, and usually that means increasing the actual price.
The floor sticker price on my King mattress Serta Anot Plush set is $2,199. They gave it to me for less than that, which was very nice of them.
- Okay what was the exact price of the mattress. Now, this is not including the box spring, frame, or any extra items you also got.
Their Guarantee and comfort exchange is a big lie. They want to charge me another $1,700 plus the comfort exchange fees 399 and oh yea, "a delivery charge" $89.
- What was the actual price of the one you wanted(again the mattress only)? What was the reason they are telling you this one is another $1,700?
The other thing you didn't mention is how muc time elapased? I don't know specifically about this warranty, but other similar ones tend to last only 30-90 days. How long was it between the time you purchased it and the time you wanted to exchange it?
