Smartfax.com pretends to be a U.S. Company however it is a one man operation based out of India. Prior to learning of their tatics I actually had an account with them several years ago. Somehow they are "hacky" enough to capture new credit card information on perivous custmers. They advertise their service at $6.95 month. I did not request a new account however they debited my card $181.04 for a service going to a medical doctor in Texas and I reside in North Carolina.
They will not respond to a complaint or dispute and if you continue to call them they place you on hold and return to the line pretending to be someone else. They will never investigate a complaint, return your call or issue a refund regardless to any supporting evidence you may provide them. I also blame the banks that allow them to continue the practices. I will give an update on the bank if it is not handled to my satisfaction.
