Recently I was online and thought it would be fun to take an IQ Quiz and have the result sent to my phone.

I was prompted to enter my phone number and received no other info (on charges) until after I gave my number. In other words, you won't know until it's too late that they are about to charge you.

I have since been billed 9.99 and the company refuses to refund me my money.

Three days ago I had already text messaged them to stop the service (before I was charged), but they billed me any way despite my stop request. I had also received a text message confirming I was unsubscribed. But again, I was still billed--after even this text message (3 days later).

Sadly, my cell phone service, Virgin Mobile, is not willing to help me either.

PLEASE DON'T LET THESE SMS PEOPLE SUCKER YOU. STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE.

They like to also hassle you with their automated stop subscription number. The number they give is 800-235-7105. However, I did a little homework and found a customer service number:

1-800-416-6129

6am-6pm Pacific Time

I called the number and got a rep. She insisted that their site provided all the info I needed to know I was being charged and I would not be issued a refund. So I promised her I would be making a complaint---which is why I am here. I don't hold any faith that our government agencies will protect us from the nonsense.

The service rep told me I was unsubscribed. I'm not holding my breath on that one.
