Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

My wife and I were at a seafood festival in Saint Augustine, Florida and were interested in buying a hot tub when we saw a booth that had an interesting looking portable type tub. After an older man met us out in front of the booth, another man (younger) who looked unkempt really with a long unruly beard, basically pushed the 1st man aside and told us he was the professional there AND he was the one to help us. First of all, he stunk like a brewery and had something in his beard and on his shirt with holes in his jeans. Very unprofessional looking and acting. He had no idea about the spas, and tried blaming the other man for the tubs not being hot or working. Then it was the festival 's fault. He basically told us if we didn't want to buy he didn't have time for us and he really didn't want to fill out any bank loan paperwork because he was about to close so he could meet his fiancee and they could have dinner. The salesman told me that he had been waiting for him to come down all weekend and that he could only stay for a while and he missed him. He said we really didn't want the unit, because of the quality but if we were still interested, his name was Brian Kittle and we could meet him at his 'office' at the flea market and he would sell us one. We have yet to see him there after several weekends. Needless to say, we won't be buying or dealing with this person or company.

My name is Jennifer, and I am the Division Manager of Softub Express, a division of Pettis Pools. We are a family owned and operated business and have been since 1962, when our parent company opened their first pool store in upstate New York. Since then we have grown rapidly, partnering with Softub, Inc. in 1994 and expanding our Softub dealership territory to Florida in 2006. The number one priority of our company is, and always has been, excellent customer service. We are not your typical retail store and we value our customers very much and treat them like family.

Unfortunately, the person that authored this report against Softub Express and our admired and professional sales person, is not even a customer. This person was a self-contracted salesperson who worked for us for two days before having his contract terminated. He was terminated during that seafood festival that he is speaking of in his report. All of the "complaints" this person mentions about Brian, are exactly the reason that he was let go at that event, so it is obvious that he is attempting to get revenge. Brian is an important and valued member of our Softub Express team who has been nothing but honest, hardworking, and trustworthy since he started.

I would like to give a few examples of the validity of my rebuttal. The first being that Brian does not wear jeans (especially tattered jeans) in the booth while working an event, he wears khaki pants or khaki shorts. The second item that I can clearly state, is that Brian was never drinking or drunk in the booth. I spoke to him several times that day, to process his sales, and he was articulate and alert during all of our several conversations. The last item that I will bring to the consumer's attention is Brian's beard. He would not be working for us if he had an unruly and unkempt beard. Again, customer service is always our top priority, and personal hygiene and grooming are part of that commitment to our customers.

It is quite amazing to me that the person filing the report states he saw the “older salesman” get practically pushed out of the way and berated in front of customers by Brian, yet I never heard a word from the "older salesman" about any of these incidents. I deal one on one with all my sales staff daily, and I am quite sure that if anything even close to this incident had ever occurred, I would have heard about it immediately. I also find it odd that a "customer" who was so put off by an interaction that had occurred (as he describes) would keep going to the Jacksonville Flea Market week after week to see a salesman who had offended him so badly. Quite frankly, this report is a blatant lie and I truly hope that this person finds the help he needs to be at peace in his life. It's very sad.
