Solar Plus Ripped me off over $30,000.00 Escondido, California
We paid Solar Plus in full for a solar electric system in December of 2010 with the approximate instalation date of 2/7/2011. Once they got the very large check, they were impossible to reach. After repeated attempts to contact them and many phone calls and emails, our system is still not installed. The company blames the LA DWP for the delay, stating that they are waiting for the rebate before they can purchase the panels. In addition, they have measured our roof three separate times and they still need to come remeasure because they can't get it right. it is now end of June and we are still waiting.
After talking to other companies, it has become clear that rebate is just an excuse for incompetence. Others install the system and carry the rebate for as long as need be. In a recent discussion with the Solar Plus CEO Ross Fockler, we found out that the company is being "acquired" in < 30 days and we are concerned that we are going to be left with a large debt that we have been making payments on for the least six months. I hope the new company knows what they are getting into. In essence we have given the Solar Plus an interest free loan in excess of $30,000 and the company has failed to perform.
