Spinnaker's French Quarter; a Dishonest ripoff. Branson, Missouri
Lied about what the package included, sold us a program that did not exist and as far as we know still does not .....
Vacation Rip-off. On October 2, 2001 we went to Branson to learn about Spinnaker's Resorts package at French Quarters. The salesman, he told us he was their "Top" salesman. He told us a lot of things in order to sell the unit before we even saw it.
We looked at Building #1 (the only building completed at the time) I advised him we were just wanting information at this time. He became almost hateful,said he'd never lost a sale, and there was no use in continuing the interview. But I stated we wanted to know more about the set up and prices.
We set at a table in the salesroom where he proceeded to give us a "sales pitch". He told us if we purchased a one and two bedroom we could trade in our weeks and have more vacation weeks we could use at any Spinnaker resorts. He explained more about using the vacation weeks, this interested us as we planned several vacations including to Alaska in 2002. He pulled out a piece of paper saying he had gone on an Alaska cruise for $1200 for two people for two weeks using his
vacation weeks
He told us that within 30 days we would receive information from our automatic membership with ICE and we could book our cruise and use our bonus weeks which they would give us as soon as the contract was signed.
He further told us that within 60 days we would receive information from RCI. He also told us that we would have a maintaince fee every other year and membership dues would be every other year.
Weeks passed and we received nothing, after three months I called Danny to ask about this. He told me that RCI had purchased ICE and they were just trying to get the paperwork done and that we whould receive all the information within the next 2 weeks (it was over 120 days before we received anything)
I called RCI about the alaska cruise and was told that we could not use our 2 bonus weeks for this cruise and they didn't know anything about this. I called Spinnaker office and was told that we couldn't use our weeks until our building was done (unit 3) which wouldn't be complete until June. I told Jill that Danny had said the building would be done in April and that we could use our bonus points she said he was mistaken. She also told me that RCI was not purchasing ICE.
I called RCI a second time and was told the same thing, could not use bonus weeks and the price of an Alaska Cruise was higher than our local travel agent.I called Spinnaker, left several messages before anyone called me back. When they finally did I told them what the salesman had said about receiving information from ICE within 30 days from our purchase date, they told me this was not correct, that we would not receive anything from them until the building was complete and that would be August.
It is our feeling that we were lied to from the beginning and now that we want to use a week of our "so called" vacation weeks we were told we had to pay another years maintainance fee.

report misunderstanding of date of timeshare date of use

I had the understanding that our date of use of timshare would be same date each year . Member # is 35473.we have planned on our week in October as this was the date we were told. The cond we were to be assigned is French Quarter. When we were there the salesman pointed out that the unit we would be in was in process of being built. It faced the New still under construction Celebration City Theme park. This was our understanding.We were told we did not have to call to reserve this date it would be the same week in October. Now we are told we have week 9 and that is in the white season when ever that is. Now we will have to pay for our week. This was to be our first time of use.I still do not have a confirmed date.
