Spirit Incentives - Gas Up America Entitled to free 2-day vacation given as a gift from Bigwater Resort LLC Fort Lauderdale Florida
My wife and I attended a sales presentation at Bigwater Resort in South Carolina. It was a time-share campground. The resort was pretty nice until they got to the price of the tiime-share. It was a bit more ($15,000 for a campsite) then we though it was worth since we own time-share resorts.
At the conclusion of the presentation, we were given two free gifts for driving 3 hours to attend the sales presentation. The first gift was $25.00 in gasoline certificates. The second was a free 2-night stay at our choice of 6 different resorts.
We completed the certificate, Serial No. 03396935 for the coupons like the instructions stated. That was in September 2003 and haven't heard a thing. We do not even get a response to letters or phone calls.
Next we selected a resort and submitted 3 sets of dates for the free vacation (also submitted a $50.00 deposit). About 4 week later we were told that the dates were not available. We submitted new dates, same story not available. This was done 5 times. When we asked what dates were available, we were told that that was not the way it was done. If we continued this procedure, we would have run out of time and they would not return our deposit. We asked for the deposit back. They were very rude on the phone when we did not want to play anymore. We did receive our deposit in 3 weeks. It just is a simple ripoff and no one gets the vacation or the gas.
