Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
my father who is on a fixxed income, has for 5 years now, sent in what ever money he could scape up, to this "church" that isn't really a church at all. He would accually feel guilty if he had no money to send.

Every letter he got he would follow their directions to the t, and occasionally good things would happon, and he could not be convinced that he had fallen for the almighty scam in the name of GOD!! Until now.

I got on the internet and pulled up all I could find on the great and powerful Church of St. Mathews. He couldn't believe all that had been reported by the press in both Tulsa, and in Houston Tx.

Please if you have recieved any mailings from these people, Do not respond!! You will only end up a pawn, in their hurtful game of embesselment. It has been proven time and time again.

They always seem to know just what to say and when to say it, They are praying on the old, and poor, who have big dreams of a day when ends meet easily, and it's not so hard to pay the bills.

My father seemed heart broken as I read to him what was written about this place, and about the scam that they have had going for at least 20 years. All he had wanted was somthing to believe in.

i am not a christian but i have read their version of the Bible and NOWHERE do I see all of the exhortations in it followed --especially not by this horrible mockery of FAITH AND GOD KNOWN AS ST. MATTHEW'S CHURCH. I thought it was Catholic or Episcopalian or Methodist or even a non-denominational church but it is just a RIP OFF taking advantage of people who want fellowship and who want to believe in God and feel that they are doing the right thing by giving money to a worthy cause of teaching the Gospel and bringing comfort and peace to those who need it. And letting them believe that God or Jesus or whomever loves and cares about them. WHAT A JOKE! I was under the impression that they could not be a tax-exempt religious organization if they did not have a church where services were held at least once a week! YOU CAN'T HAVE SERVICES IN AN ENVELOPE. MY FATHER SOUGHT GOD. I THINK THE OLD PEOPLE HAD TO HAVE SOMETHING TO SUSTAIN THEM IN THE 1930S DEPRESSION AND IN THE COMBAT OF WWII AND KOREA. HE WANTED TO BELIEVE SO MUCH AND HE TRIED TO DO GOOD. I AM THANKFUL THAT HE DID NOT FALL FOR A SCAM LIKE ST. MATTHEW'S CHURCH. I WISH THAT THE GOVERNMENT COULD SHUT THEM DOWN AND TAKE AWAY THEIR TAX EXEMPTION BUT THAT MIGHT HURT RELIGIOUS ORGANIZATIONS WHO ARE REALLY DOING GOOD FOR PEOPLE. I HOPE THAT THE OLD MAN DID NOT LOSE HIS FAITH BECAUSE OF THOSE SORRY PROSPERITY GOSPEL LYING SCUMBAGS. I THINK WE ARE ALL LOOKING FOR SOMETHING TO BELIEVE IN AND I WISH THERE WAS A RELIGION THAT WOULD OFFER THE FELLOWSHIP, LOVE, SHARING,AND ALL OF THE THINGS THAT SUCH A WORSHIP BODY IS SUPPOSED TO OFFER. I DON'T SEE IT IN THE MASS MEGACHURCH WHERE PEOPLE WITHOUT A CREDIT RATING ARE NOT PERMITTED MORE THAN ONCE... I AM SO SORRY FOR THE OLD MAN WHO WAS RIPPED OFF HERE. I SEE MY FATHER ON HIS LIFETIME SPIRITUAL QUEST AND I HOPE THERE IS JUSTICE AFTER DEATH--ESPECIALLY FOR THE FRAUDS AND EVIL PEOPLE WHO DISILLUSIONED SO MANY FROM RELIGION.WHATEVER PREFERENCE YOU MAY HAVE...

This is why, one should only do local stuff on giving $$. No matter what the faith, giving $$ blindly to anything is pure stupidity. I only wish he had 'seen the light' on this scam in the beginning. But then even legitiamte churches whould have advises him not to do the scam. If he had made any effort to chk it out he would have been ok. No matter what the faith is, always verify a request for $$ as legit. most of the time it might not be. I hope he didnt lose much more than his $$.

The sad thing is that you stated all your father wanted was "something to believe in" when all had God right in front of him the entire time. "Churches" and I use that term very loosely PREY upon the elderly and people who can not afford to be sending any money at all. All we can do is pray for those that prey upon us because in the end they will get what they deserve.

I too ache for those who are ripped off by this scam. Whats even more of a ache is how its been a known scam for at least 30+ years and even before the internet. WHat it continues to mean though is that peoplee need to remember the best way to help or contribute....is to contribute to a local trusted group that you are personally familiar with, and do in fact trust. I myself, never ever contribute till I check somebody out, both credit wise, legal wise, criminal &etc.. If I dont do the above, I do only United Way or Billy Graham (directly) or outfits I am personally involved with. But what bugs me the most is the ones who continue to give this scam $$ even after the scam is known. Those people I dont ache for because they are part of the evil of this scam.

My heart goes out to your father. As I read these reports on Rip-Off website about Saint Mathews so-called church from other people, I realized that there are a lot of people who have been deceived by them. I started receiving letters, who knows how and why, I didn't contact them in 2003, I do believe, I still get them and throw them away. In the beginning I'd a small amount, a letter was sent back indicating to the effect that the amount that I sent, was not quite satisfactory in order to receive my blessing, this turned me off right there. I sent 17.00 dollors once, I received another letter asking for more, I then said, oh, I see were this is going, before you know it, I could see them asking for hundreds. So, I stopped altogether and in my heart I began to feel that something about it was not quite right due to the fact, that, payimg tithes or planting a seed is well with God, but he can and will bless you without you sending a penny, if he chooses. Plus, I was not up for doing all that stuff they requested of you to do, God doesn't, just be obedient and believe. So, now it's confirmation that my feelings were correct. And yes they do send letters as if they know exactly what you may want to hear or send letters that state situtations that you just may be going through at that time. But, what really got me was when I had sent a few dollars and I do mean a few one or two dollars, and they would send me letters back, that they had already sent me before as if I was starting all over again, now that also was an eye opener. That's okay though because..... St.-Con-The-People-For Money- Church. God is watching you as well. Be Afraid........Be Very Afraid!!!!.
