I purchased a Canon Multipass F30 2 years ago, now it needs a new print head. Staples does not carry it nor can they find a part number for me. They sold me the wrong one first and I have to make a 70 mile trip for this. It would not fit my printer and they said they could not find on the web site they use. They suggested I buy a new printer.

When I purchased the printer from them I asked about the cartridges and how long they lasted, I was told they would last a long time. This is wrong. I went to get more ink and when I got home they were half full. I told them I would buy the refill kits and do my own. They told me this would not work because of the difference in the ink. This is wrong. The refill works fine.

What an unreasonable customer! Not only is she upset that they do not carry every tiny intricate part to her OBSOLETE two-year old printer, she is upset that her ink cartridges did not last more than two years!! What is her definitition of "a long time?" It seems to me that a printer cartridge that lasts more than 6 months is a very long time. And hers lasted for approx. two years? This woman is unreasonable, and is a few fries short of a happy meal to think the way she does. What's funny also is that the store was actually doing her a favor by offering to sell her a new printer. Why replace the expensive ink cartridges in her old, OBSOLETE printer when she can buy a brand new, MODERN printer that comes WITH ink cartridges for a mere few dollars more? Shame on the store for suggesting something that might be to her benefit!!!

Flawed Logic On Parts and Ink

Why would you expect Staples or any other similar store to stock print heads for every printer model that they ever sold? If you had purchased a VCR there, would you also expect that they would stock the record and erase heads? Or parts for a cell phone? Or a television? Certainly not! If Staples is unable to locate a print head for your model, they can't make one appear out of thin air! Other than suggest buying another printer, what else could they then have said to satisfy you? Look in your Canon F30 Owner's Manual for parts ordering information and availability. There should be a parts telephone number and possibly even an Internet address. As to ink cartidges, Staples does not make them and has no control over the amount of ink they contain. Complain to Canon! Sorry, but Staples certainly did not rip you off! You are simply an unreasonable customer.
