Star Van Lines ripoff, dishonest, fraudulent tricked and lied to us mistreated ripped off Sunrise Florida *UPDATE ..more fraud
We came in contact with this company through the internet, through jennyspeedmoving .com and jenny and tom smith were the contact person.
We were given an estimate of moving our stuff from Texas to California and promised that it will arrive in 7 to 10 days. The movers came in on May 28 and ask us to sign an empty contract sheet with only the given estimate in it before they will load.
After loading our stuff they tack on about $4000 of extra charges and Tom ask for half of the amount before even considering moving it eeventhough we had a clear agreement that I'll pay via credit card. So I ended paying him $3500 through Western Union and we were promise that our stuff is to arrive in 7 to 10 days.
We have contacted the company on June 5, 11, 18 and 23 to ask for our stuff. They been giving us the run around and now they tell us that they have asked another company to move it for them. We have been talking to Joe Panida and Dan Rubin after they told us that Tom Smith does not work there any more and Jenny is suddenly out of the picture. Please help use in any way.
The money is now secondary. We just want our stuff back. My family have been eating and sleeping on the floor since they took our stuff and they keep promising that it is arriving soon. HELP PLEASE

Since my last report. Star Van Lines told us that they contracted another company (Dolphin Moving and Storage) to deliver our stuff and they are delivering the first load on June 23 and the second on June 25. Dolphin delivered a small portion of our stuff on June 25, 2002 after asking for another $100 for long haul. They delivered 33 boxes and my washer and dryer, still none of the major appliance and furniture. The company told us that the rest will probably arrive in a couple of days.
Today, July 1, we are still waiting for the rest of our things. We called Joe Panida of Star Van lines and ask them what going on. We were told that a new company (Right On Time) is delivering our things tomorrow between 3pm and 6pm but he want us to Fedex our payment today before they deliver. My wife told them that we won't be givng them any money until we see all our stuff. He said he will call back. So I'll keep you updated about this dishonest company.
