Starlight Camera Utilizes sales practices that are questionable at best. No integrity. ripoff Brooklyn, New York internet
Found a good price on line from Starlight Camera for a Nikon Coolpix 3700 digital camera. I ordered the camera. I received an email from Starlight confirming the order but in the email they ask you to contact them via telephone or else shipment will not be made.
Naturally when you make this call, they try to sell you many overpriced accessories and an extended warranty. I chose not to buy any of the addons and the sales representative said fine and was very courteous and stated that shipment would be made in 2 to 3 days. During the day I received an email from Starlight stating that they had cancelled the order. It's obvious that they advertise at low prices with the intent of making up the difference on overpriced additives. If you choose not to take any of the additives, they simply cancel your order.
It's not worth the time and effort to deal with this company. For a few bucks more you can deal with a reputable company (I chose Digital Foto) and avoid all the headaches. Starlight was rated as a four star company by Yahoo and I felt that should suffice but you need to heed some of the consumer warnings.
I wish that I had viewed the Rip Off Report and I certainly will in the future. These predator type companies need to be exposed for what they are. Hope this complaint saves somebody else a headache.
