Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
You may have seen the numerous complaints against Allen Knauer (who sometimes goes by other names i.e. Allen Longstreet), owner of the tradeshow model companies "Statement Models", "Indy Models", "1st Place Models" and possibly some others.

I am just one more naive independent contractor who has been taken advantage of by this horrible man.

Without getting into too much detail, it has been almost 6 months since I've worked for him and, having only received half of my payment, expect that I will never see the other half.

I have been in touch with another model, who I coincidentally shot a commercial with, and who has been in touch with numerous other models who have worked for him. He is getting around! And though every girl has her own story we are all in the same boat now. While everything seems legit on the surface, if you do not fine-comb the contract you will also be severely taken advantage of. Hopefully if you are reading this you are doing your homework like we should've and not finding this out too late.

Note: He tends to hire outside the state of Indiana, which works to his advantage, as a clause in the contract states that if you want to file ANY legal action against him, you must come to the state of Indiana to do so. Very clever. He is, no doubt a very smart man. A very indecent man who will take advantage of people until he has enough money to sit on for a very long time once he is forced to cash out.

Please... read the other complaints if you can find them...though I have a suspicion that many are being removed. AND DO NOT WORK FOR THIS COMPANY!

We try to make everyone happy but, for a variety of reasons, it doesn't always turn out that way. Sometimes, it's our fault. Most often, it's not. We have a lot of people who work every week and most enjoy the experience. If you have a complaint, we suggest contacting us instead of posting anonymously on a message board.

I would like to add that although I'm sure Allen will respond to this posting (as I'm sure he knows to check this site more and more often the longer he rips people off and angers them), I bought into one of his responses that people need to do their own homework. I do agree that people usually only take the time and effort to post when they are upset, therefore you are not likely to find many positive reports. So thank you Allen. I took your advice and I did my homework... thus leading me to the conclusion that you are, in fact, a fraud and are hurting many good people who do this quite regularly as a source of income... and do it well. I suppose that someone who essentially withholds thousands of dollars from individuals for his own keeping- on an almost daily basis- couldn't really relate, but know that you have many people out here who would just looove to know where you live.
