Steve Patch has produced the most sane, well mannered, healthiest german shepherd dogs I have seen in a very long time. He knows what he's doing.

Well, I wouldn't expect a judge to understand the difference between a Sch dog and a personal protection dog.  Benny should have understood this distinction prior to even contacting Steve Patch.  GSDs will protect their owners regardless of training.  If you specifically want an attack dog, you need to train them to be an attack dog or simply get a dog with such a poor temperament that all they want to do is attack.  The fact that Benny referred to the dog as a "wimpy" pet indicates a high level of ignorance in regards to both the breed and dogs in general.  I am glad that everything is legally settled, but I hope Benny has since made an attempt to better educate himself about both the breeds and dogs in general.  A GSD in the hands of someone who exhibits the thought and behavior that Benny has previously shown is a danger to everyone.

Steve and Kathy Patch of vom Haus Patch who calls himself top dog, I think , is finally learning that he is not above the law. She has already given $8500, to an attorney that she finally hired, to give to me. There is now a balance of $7500., to be paid no later than August 25, as agreed upon ,totalling $16,000. I guess his lies and fraudulant practices seem to have backfired on him. In the event ,I don't get the balance by the above date the lien on their house and the pursuit of the wage garnishing of Kathy Patches salary will be continued. They have covered my legal fees and have reimbursed me for the dog when they have paid in full. He is advertising a dog named Berry for sale, which is the dog he delivered to me, which he claimed was a schutzhund 1 dog on the messageboard on Pedigree data base,But the dog that I was supposed to get and paid for in full was supposed to be a Shutzhund 2 dog named Xandu. Even the pictures he showed me were different from the dog he actually delivered. Apparently he was unable to obtain the dog that was promised me on the bill of sale, showing the fraud that he really is. I'm sure that people in the same line of business as the Patches, when attending the shows, will look at them differently. Final outcome will be continued soon,hopefully.

For those who have been following the saga and also those who have been ripped off by the Patch family, you will be happy to know that due to Steve's failure to pay, and ignoring the court order, which he himself and his wife signed, agreeing to pay us back ,my attorney was able to put a lien against their house. Kathy Patch has been served with papers notifying her that she has 20 days to pay me or a percentage of her salary will be garnished. We tried to put a freeze on their bank account, but the bank informed us that the Patch family withdrew all their funds and closed out their entire account. Steve and Kathy Patch also are being subpoenaed for a deposition on August 31,2007. If they don't show, they will be held in contempt of court. A fine may be imposed and we may have the opportunity to have them arrested. Steve contacted my attorney today and informed him that he needed to re-finance his house and was unable to do so, due to the lien imposed by us. By Steve ignoring the original court order, the court system automatically notifed the various credit bureaus(Steve, contact TRW and see what your credit is like now). Steve and Kathy, you are not above the law. You think you can cheat people out of their money by keeping the dog and the money. You try to make fools out of people. When you called to threaten my attorney today, he informed you that this will go as far as need be,until we get full satisfaction. If the readers are interested ,please go onto Pedigree Database, and look up German Shepherds, on May 24, a complaint was posted on their messageboard by top dog (Steve Patch) saying how he was ripped off by the Germans. In my opinion he needed an excuse in order to save his name by transferring the blame onto someone else. If anybody believes that excuse call me, I have several bridges I can sell you. To all of those who have been following the reports on Steve Patch and his wife Kathy Patch of Vom Haus Patch Shepherds:I would like to fill all of you in on where we are so far with Steve Patch. He had until April 7th to pay me the amount of $8500, which was a settlement of the orignal amount of $20,000 had the case gone to trial. I think this is a very reasonable settlement for Steve, but he apparently decided not to pay me at all. He still has the dog, and my money that he refuses to give back. If that's not fraud, and being a thief, what is? He apparently feels that he is above the law, and that he's going to get away with it. Now due to the default of the settlement agreement, he is due to pay me the full amount of $20,000. I have been in contact with numerous people who have also been ripped off by this man. Thank you all for your interest and support, and if there is anyone else who has been wronged by this man, please contact me to get a class action suit started. Maybe we would be able to get this man out of business once and for all by bringing all of the necessary documents to the local district attorney's office in his area.

I also Import West German working-Show class line german shepherds.What the general public does not understand,is there is a big diffrence,in a Sch protection trained dog,and a personal Protection trained dog.Many Sch dogs,will not even get a fast pulse,unless they see a bite sleeve.They are trained to bite a sleeve,where a personal protection dog,is trained to bite the offeneder anywhere it can,without a bite sleeve,or provocation.When I get requests for protection males,we seek out males with the strong drives,and nerves for this,then send them to a protection dog trainer for 8 weeks,in Colorado.This trainer then goes to the home of the buyer for a day,to teach them how to get the dog to respond to the commands they were taught. refresher courses are needed a few times a year,to keep the dog "fresh" in his working abilities.We never offer a Sch titled dog,as a personal protection dog,as the training is entirely diffrent. Many people today,watch too much television,and watch police dogs,chase and bring down an offender,and think this is cool,and a way to show off the dog you have.I wonder how many of these people also realize,the liability of owning a dog that is truly protection trained,and the ramifications they may face,if the dog is told to attack an offender?

It doesn't make sense for me to waste time and energy on a man like Steve patch, who thinks he can outsmart people with his lies, trying to defraud me. I'm not going to waste my time or the readers' time by repeating the story again, but if people just pay attention to what this man said you can see the type of person he is. He is smooth and acts very knowledgable and he will have excuses for everything. Example: he has no papers for the dog, when the dog came in,it was a completley different dog, he said the papers would come at a later date, and we found out that the papers come with the dog.Our expert witness,who came to court with us had no clue as to who Steve Patch was, stated that it was not true, anyone importing dogs from Europe, would agree with me, that is just one of the lies, starting things off. Right after the trial, the judges tally up their scores, and give the book and title to the handler, and the book goes with the dog immediately. This is a fact which I heard from more than one trainer, one of which trains dogs for the Connecticut police department. That proved to me that he didn't want to show me the papers because the name was different as the one on our receipt. Indicating a different dog. The bottom line is that this was not the right dog, he actually admitted that to me and yet he still would not refund my money or get me another dog, I did give him the opportunity to get another dog at the time. In court the judge, in front of my attorney and his wife Kathy, said that he doesn't have a case and just refund my money and he refused. That is why it was going to trial and that is when we settled for $8500. His countersuit was for training and boarding. Is there something wrong with him wanting to charge another $8500 for something that a shutzhund 2 dog should have had in the first place? It seems to me that no matter what lies Steve Patch says about me, the man still has my money and he still has the dog. This has been going for over 6 months. Don't you think that this is a problem? The man was already told by my attorney to stop calling him and harrasasing him and I think that is pretty nervy of the man as I trusted him enough to give him $9900 up front, sight unseen on his word ,and he took advantage of my trust. If you buy a dog from this man you will never know where the dog is coming from. And with a man like Steve patch this can happen to you. We'll see if he sends the $8,500 that we settled for, or will he try to find another excuse not to have to pay me. Let me just say this.I have the dog and num nutes money, because he gave me the dog back because Benny wanted the dog to bite a hidden sleeve.This was done with out any problems.Then when he was supposed to pick up the dog ,he refused and said he wanted his money back.I informed this nut that I would send the dog back to Germany and he would get all his money $7,700 back the bal was for the shipping and the training I performed.A grand total of $9,900.The next think I know I get a letter from his lawyer.This man is a complete liar and cheat.He never had a sch dog. I am Benny rebutting comments made by Steve Patch, proving that in my opinion he is a liar. We brought aSteve Patch a dog that we purchased for him to evaluate. He workeed the dog for 2 minutes and kept telling us that the dog was no good and that we should return him., and that he was only worth $1500 He claimed he could get me a better dog. We wanted a personal protection dog, meaning he could adapt to any setting,including my 3 neutered male dogs, and 1 spayed female. Steve gave us one picture of one dog saying this was the dog we were getting,named Xando and was supposedly titled Schutzhund II, as stated on my receipt. We invited Steve to our repair shop sothat he could see the environment that the dog would be in as we planned to take him to work with us. When we had the dog in our repair shop he was terrified by everyday noises. He hid in the office facing the wall. We did no training with him at all. We had a schutzhund dog for 7 wonderful years and new exactly what they should do.The dog Steve got for us was not fit for personal protection. He thought we wanted a show dog. We did not bring Steve down to impress him in any way. I did not tell him I wanted him to bite my employee . He keeps making up stories.We went to Mr. Patch house to see the dogs progress. He threw a ball and the dog picked it up and dropped it halfway back. He then proceeded to go chase a cat, and Steve could not control the dog enough to get him back. We showed Steve that this was not the right dog and he admitted that he should try to get us another dog. He took the dog back and held him there not calling us to letus know our progress. We contacted the Betteer Business Bureau and his response to them was that no refund was due. He still had the dog and the money. We went to court and settled for $8500 which left us in a deficit for $5000.We had to pay legal fees and pay fo an expert witness. Steve could not deliver the dog that he promised and thought that he could just pass off any dog, to us. He would not give us a refund or get another dog. Maybe he should think twice before he tries to defraud anyone else.

I don't see anything in Steve's "rest of the story" about giving Benny his money back. So now Steve has the dog AND Benny's $10K, and that's a problem. Really Steve missed his chance to just take the dog back and make a refund the first time that Benny said he wasn't satisfied. If Benny really wants a big dog that likes to bite people, he could find a much better deal at the pound.

My Patches, my 22 pound, 13 year old friend, I got from the pound, for $25, has bit TWO A/C guys, one plumber and one insurance agent. She protects her 2.5 acres. She does have problems with all the coyotes and the big deer. I wouldn't sell her for a measley $9,900. I got a friend, not a house pet, though you may call her whimpy. The two A/C guys, the plumber and the insurance agent probably wouldn't. Secondly, to Steve, here's 24 years of business experience. If you have a customer who's bad mouthing the last business, you're probably next. This guy doesn't want a pet, he wants a machine.

I'm Steve Patch, I would like to respond to Mr **** false report.Mr **** first contacted me to see if I would look at a male west German show line male he purchased from somebody else.He then came to my home to show me this male dog.He then informed me that he had paid $6,500 for this male.This male had very little training. No sch titles just a pet. I worked this male and tried to see if he had and training. His ob was at a beginer level at best. Mr **** informed me that the dog knows how to revere.Which Mr **** said this ment to bite. This is not true. Revere is a hold and bark.The dogs bite work was also that of a beginer.wouldn't take a full bite, and would mouth the puppy sleeve I was using. After I tested the dog. I informed Mr **** that the dog was not worth the $6,500 he paid.After complaining to me about the buiness pratices of the people he got the dog from and that they would never answer the phone when he would call.He wanted to bring this dog back. But had a very difficult time getting in touch with them. Well he finaly did after a long time and battle. This is when the lights in my own head should have gone off.He then asked me to help him find a dog similer to one of mine. Mr *** wanted a dog (male) that he could bring into his home. And live with his wife and grandchild along with his other 4 male dogs (all uncut) One being a sharpai. After a few weeks I sent him some pictures of a few dogs from Germany . All show line dogs.That is what I get . and only them. I gave him a discription of the dogs. and I then told him that I would bring in the best one for him. The dogs name is Berry.Black and red male 65 cm.The price for the dog.Sch 1 kkl good rating in Germany.Was $7,700 plus I charged him $2,200 for the shipping and for me to train the dog with Mr **** and to get the dog to except the dogs in Mr ****s home. I live 1 hr from Mr **** and 2 hrs from his auto shop in the bronx NY . where I also went .I explained to Mr **** that he had to let the dog bond with him and his family before we would start working him and the dog.And taking him to his auto repair shop. He would call me a few times a day complaining of everything you could imagin.I knew I had made a big mistake.Then when he asked me to come down to his shop. To see the dog.Mr **** was more interested in showing off his big auto repair shop then the dog.Also informing me how all the neiborhood drug dealers would keep and eye on his shop.This coming from and x NY cop.I was'nt impressed like he thought I should be. When we finaly went in his small office and after him showing me the Greatbare commercial song cd.Also not impressed.He then wanted me to get the dog to bite someone in his shop. That is all he was interested in, how he wants the dog to tare someone up. I informed him this was not that type of dog.Then one of his imployies came into his office. But stopped short when he saw the dog. Informing me that the last time Mr **** had him put a bite sleeve on so the dog would bite him.The man refused to do this again. In my oppinion Mr **** Likes and trys to impress people with his toys business home and cars. and now his dog.My wife and I got the full tours of his home cars business and so on. After he had the dog for a week or so. He had me come to his home with a friend who also trains dogs. He said the dog would not play ball with him. That he had no ball drive.This I couldn't believe, I use the ball when I train with him . I then took a ball from Mr **** and as soon as Berry saw the ball he went nuts.Just waiting for me to throw it.Supper ball drive.Mr **** ask me to take Berry home with me and work with him. which I gladly did.I bought him to my club and worked him in all sorts of training. His bite work is fantastic. Good hold and bark. Great out and so on.I even have this on tape and bought this with me to court to show the judge that Mr **** was not telling the truth.Now from the begining I always stood behind this dog or any dog I sell.He always new that if he was not happy I would send the dog back.,and find him another dog or give his money back. No one does that. After having the dog with me a couple of weeks. Mr **** came to my home with his wife ,daughter and his older brother to see the dog work.Berry work fantastik. Mr **** older brother was extremly impressed. I then informed Mr **** to take Berry home with him so thay could start the bonding porcess.He refused and wanted me to hold on to him.So I agreed not knowing why untill A few weeks or so later I recieved a letter from his lawyer.That I was being sued for $30,000. I now beleive this is a game that Mr **** plays a lot.Berry has now been with me for 6 months or so. His work all the time and is a very good dog. Mr ****s loss.And thank god he doesn't have this dog. Mr **** is just a small man that has nothing better to do then to goes problems with others.This is my first experience with such a man.This has never happend with me before.Next time I'll listian to my gut feeling. No sch titles just a pet. I worked this male and tried to see if he had and training. His ob was at a beginer level at best. Mr **** informed me that the dog knows how to revere.Which Mr **** said this ment to bite. This is not true. Revere is a hold and bark.The dogs bite work was also that of a beginer.wouldn't take a full bite, and would mouth the puppy sleeve I was using. After I tested the dog. I informed Mr **** that the dog was not worth the $6,500 he paid.After complaining to me about the buiness pratices of the people he got the dog from and that they would never answer the phone when he would call.He wanted to bring this dog back. But had a very difficult time getting in touch with them. Well he finaly did after a long time and battle. This is when the lights in my own head should have gone off.He then asked me to help him find a dog similer to one of mine. Mr *** wanted a dog (male) that he could bring into his home. And live with his wife and grandchild along with his other 4 male dogs (all uncut) One being a sharpai. After a few weeks I sent him some pictures of a few dogs from Germany . All show line dogs.That is what I get . and only them. I gave him a discription of the dogs. and I then told him that I would bring in the best one for him. The dogs name is Berry.Black and red male 65 cm.The price for the dog.Sch 1 kkl good rating in Germany.Was $7,700 plus I charged him $2,200 for the shipping and for me to train the dog with Mr **** and to get the dog to except the dogs in Mr ****s home. I live 1 hr from Mr **** and 2 hrs from his auto shop in the bronx NY . where I also went .I explained to Mr **** that he had to let the dog bond with him and his family before we would start working him and the dog.And taking him to his auto repair shop. Benny, if everything you say is true, then you were definitely the victim of fraud. You should contact the New York State Attorney General's Office, and you should hire a lawyer in order to sue this "breeder" so you can get your money back. You should also contact the the American Kennel Club, as they maintain a list of reputable breeders as well as a blacklist of the disreputable ones. Additionally, you should contact the German Shepherd Dog Club of America - Working Dog Association (The AKC recognized national breed association) and DVG America (The oldest and largest Schutzhund training organization in the world) and tell them your story. Maybe they can help you. You might even consider contacting media outlets in the NYC and Hudson Valley areas. With enough adverse publicity, not only will you get your money back, but "Vom Haus Patch" will have to stop scamming people and conduct business in an above board manner! Good luck!
