Steve Rainey ripoff Beware of this Con Artist Birmingham Alabama
In early April of 2005, I was contacted by Steve Rainey stating that his company S.L. Holdings had come across my resume on Monster.com and were hiring for a sales position with their company. He emailed me that I would be selling trips for his company on EBAY, he would hold multiple auctions and the psople would pay my Paypal Account and I in turn would send him 90% of the winning bid. He had me create a EBAY Account and give him the password so he could set up the auctions, and told me he wanted to do a few test auctions of DVD's to make sure I could handle larger items such as trips. He listed nine auctions and when each auction ended I forwarded him the 90% and everything seemed to be fine.
Then about a week after the auction I began to receive phone calls and emails from the winners whom had never received the merchandise. I contacted Steve by email and at first he told me everything had been shipped but he had no tracking numbers. Then when I disputed that he told me I had never sent him the money even though I had tracking conformations that he did indeed receive it and cashed the money orders.
Finally, he told me to not give out his emails to customers and to deal with it myself snf hr did not want to be bothered. I am a honest person and these people deserve refunds or the items, so I contacted the Shelby Sheriff Department and they already have a investigation in place and were elated to get more documents. I then contacted the ALabama Attorney Generals Office and they also knew of his scams and assigned a investigtor to work with me. I then filed with the US POstal Service reporting Mr. Rainey for mail fraud, finally I was contacted by a anonymous person and was given the number of a FBI agent that was working other complaints on him and contacted him.
If you have been ripped off by this guy please contact me and I will give you the names of the people that are investigating him, it's only a matter of time before he is behind bars and if we work together we can take this criminal down.
