I moved to Ohio to marry my wife. One time she told me that Stykemain had a bad reputation. What I did not realize at the time was that I did not even have to do business with them or even speak with them in order to be affected by it.
Since moving to Ohio and getting a new place, I decided I had a chance to start new and I was not going to blow it. I personally hate junk mail, sales calls, and other disrespect to citizens and environment. My policy is strict: DO NOT ever do business with anyone involving giving out personal information of any kind unless they agree to keep it private and not share. I have stuck to this policy religiously without exception.
So now I get garbage in my mail from Stykemain that lists my exact car model and year. The audacious advertisments nag me to sell my car to them/trade in to get another etc. I was besides myself as to how they could know where I lived and what kind of car I drove.
I actually wrote GM 3 times to tell them NOT to share my information with anyone at all and I have never done business with a car dealership in Ohio. I called the DMV and they say they DO NOT give out this information. I know exactly who in this town knows me, my car and where I have ever taken it for any kind of service since I came to this state. Where I live there is no way someone could have walked up to my house to spy on my car. So I can only assume at this point that Stykemain's marketing department has done something illegal to get my information to try to sell to me.
I did write them some time ago telling them to stop but the advertisements still come. It's almost as if they think citizen privacy/sharing laws are just a joke because they know it is almost impossible to find, prove and prosecute them. Last poll I saw, car salesmen were the least respected people employed in America. I would have to agree. My car is NOT money for some stranger b*****d to make snyde remarks about. It's my GD car. Leave me alone.
