I have been / was working for this company for the past month and a week and unannounced my boss/manager came and told me and my former coworker that we have been replaced and the new employees will be replacing us the following day. His reason for terminating us was because one day when I was out of town my coworker was running late to open up for work because her car wouldn't start, since there was only two of us running the stand and I was out of town she wasn't able to call anyone else to open up the stand in time. By the time she was able to get to work the security guards had informed her how the Company has a contract with the mall stating that the stand must be open everyday in time or there will be a 5,000 fee due for not following through with the contract. We both was not aware of such policy nor did we every sign a policy and procedure stating that we knew. The mall had sent two warning papers to the company about the same incident . The company had spoken to my coworker about it and never spoke to me about the incident at all until the day they fired me. Three weeks later we both are getting terminated for that incident. I must note again that I had nothing to do with the incident that I am getting punished for, also I had dedicated my time to the company every day of the week with no days off and the company had always failed to pay us on time for the hours we worked.I would always receive my check a week from the day they said I was suppose to get paid. It was very frustration because I would always have to hunt them down just to receive my paycheck so I could pay my bills . I was often late on paying my bills due to them being unprofessional, yet I made sure I was a loyal, hard working and dedicated employee. But they choose to pay me back by firing me for something i had no control over. Also the day I was fired my dad had immediately contacted them and they actually admitted that I was a  loyal and good hardworking employee. It just doesn't make sense.
