I returned to Australia in December 2006 (about 12 months ago, in fact), after living in the US for approximately three years. This week, I recieved a letter (forwarded from the US) from Superior Asset Management, making a debt recovery claim for US$387.72.

In the claim letter, Superior Asset Management Inc state that they are "a collection agency for Bank Of America", and that a Bank Of America account (account number quoted) to the above amount has been placed with them for collection. The account, and the claim, are both bogus.

I was somewhat confused when I recieved the claim letter, until I researched the company and discovered that they appear to have quite a well-documented reputation for putting out 'speculative' claims for debt recovery. I assume that they make a decent income on the premise that, for every 100 they distrubute, at least one recipient will be gullible enough to pay the claim without questioning the debt. What a world we live in!!

Steve, here is an idea of what kind of lowlife bottomfeeders you are dealing with

These are some real lowlife you are dealing with. They are in the junk debt buying business. Have some fun with them! You are in Australia, right? They must sue you in the court of jurisdiction of where you reside! Compliments of budhibbs.com>> HEAD DEBT COLLECTORS: Eddie N. King, Chief Executive Officer Deborah W. King, VP, Secretary, Treasurer Other Offices: 348 Miracle Strip Pkwy., Suite 16A Fort Walton Beach, FL 32549 Phone: (850) 796-1020 Fax: (850) 796-1150 Bud Says... This industry is loaded with entrepreneurs, gamblers, losers and idiots and Superior Asset Management (formerly known as Superior Credit Services) appears to fall in the idiot's category. The complaints I receive regarding them are on such ridiculous and stupid matters that I wonder how in the world owner Eddie and Deborah King ever get involved in the collection business AND continue to survive. Their inability to handle trivial matters and respond to any correspondence is both frustrating and signs of their unprofessional conduct. I wonder how anyone could place accounts with an agency that is so lacking in basic business ethics and professionalism. They appear to be so void of the basic collection laws and business practices that defy the norm. Their collectors are under-trained, over-caffeinated jerks who treat consumers with the attitude of a bully. These are NOT professional debt collectors, rather scavengers who are apparently in a feeding frenzy to get what they can, while they can. It is apparent to me that the Kings must be hiring the debt collector rejects other (more reputable) agencies turn away or fire. They are targets of litigation by consumer law professionals and DO have a surety bond in effect, so suing them may NOT be a bad idea as you could actually collect on their idiotic mistakes and blunders. It appears that Eddie and Deborah care more about lining their pockets than they do the laws and consumer rights. My advice on Superior Asset Management is to PASS!! Contact me if you need additional assistance in dealing with these morons! >>> Agency Details Superior Asset Management, Inc.*** Formerly known as: Superior Credit Services 19361 US Highway 19 N Ste 100 Clearwater, FL 33764-3102 Phone: (727) 524-6990 Fax: (727) 532-6889 Web Address: NONE!
