T-Mobile manufacturing phones

I have been in the same position of having to return a defective piece of equipment to the place of purchase. It sucks, I agree, but here is some information about T-Mobile. T-Mobile does not manufacture any type of phone. We are a SERVICE provider. As a service provider we have to purchase the phones from the phone manufacturer. Nokia manufactures phones. Motorola manufactures phones. Samsung/LG/Kyocera/RIM/Audiovox manufactures phones. But we do not. With any type of recall or known issue on a phone we will offer to fulfill the warranty in place by the manufactur. The reason we do this is to save you time and hassle. In most cases (I will describe exceptions in a moment) we are able to mail out a phone before we get your phone back. This minimizes the amount of time you are unable to use your service with us. Here are the exeptions to that rule. If you are on prepaid service (which is the only type of service Target sells I believe) the warranty program is different. In that instance we have to receive the phone back to determine the phone is defective. Here is the thing about warranties. Say you have a warranty for a Sony television and it is defective. Will you get an RCA television for your Sony television? Most certainly not! The warranty covers the same equipment model that is defective. Think of it as a swap out program to get a working phone. I work in the monthly billing department, so I will confess I am not 100% clear on all prepaid policies. This rebuttal is from the general information that I know about T-Mobile as a long-standing employee. I hope this information helps!

Your Just Causing More Problems.... Your complaint is against T-Mobile not upgrading your phone, not Target

The phone went on recall and T-Mobile offered to replace the phone, free of charge, but you said you didn't want the same phone...You should have just taken the replacement phone and used up your $50 airtime card. Its not Target's fault that T-Mobile made an error in their manufactoring, so why do you want to try and make it Target's problem? Also, on the back of EVERY reciept Target gives out is their refund policy, it states that some things CANNOT be returned, airitme cards are one of them. First of all, Target has no way to check if any of the minutes had been used up, even if the phone was recalled you still could have had a friend use the minutes on the card. Secondly those cards expire in 90 days after they are activated, so Target couldn't resell the card because it would probably be expired by the time it's resold. Third, cards are activated immediatly after a sale, an activation cannot be taken back and therefor you cannot return it. Target shouldn't have to pay $50 out of their pocket so that you can return a card you couldn't use because you wouldn't accept T-Mobile's FREE replacement phone.....if you are having such a tough time with Target, then shop somewhere else. I guarantee you that anyone selling that phone also got a recall and you would have gotten the same responses. Your complaint is against T-Mobile not upgrading your phone, not Target, and it is just that, a COMPLAINT, you were not ripped off! so you should not be posting here.
