Tango Bay Clothing Company - Barefoot Republic corporate Name ripoff overpricing of merchandise selling closeouts at full price Mount Pleasant South Carolina
The owner of Tango Bay is ripping people off by over-pricing items to try and make more money on them than what suggested retail markup is. For example their 2 be real t-shirts are anywhere from $79 to $97 in their store and online and other boutiques you can buy them for around $65. All of their designer jeans are 10-25 dollars higher than you can go to copper penny or any boutique in downtown Charleston and buy them for. They will even go as far as take the brands tags off of things and put their own stickers over things so customers will not see what the brands suggested retail is.
They also purchase closeout merchandise from last seaason and put it in their store at full price or even a little above what the normal retail would have been on it even though some of their tags clearly state that it is last years merchandise. The people who own this store have no shame in ripping people off and I find it disgusting. I encourage people to go elsewhere and shop, you can find anything they carry in another boutique in the area or even online much cheaper with no shipping charges! I for one will never shop there again. Not to mention the foreign employees are just down right obnoxious while you shop in there, they really try to pressure you into buying things from them and that is one thing I will not tolerate when I am shopping, considering shopping is a leisure activity and should not be a hassel like they tend to make it.
