Target of Fishers Coupon Fraud? Fishers, Indiana
I went to Target today to buy some formula for my 4 month old son. I have been buying formula there (Good Start Gentle Plus in the powder form) ever since he was born because they continue to give me coupons at the checkout when I purchase some (they must track my debit card's past purchases or something).
When I went through the line today the cashier looked at the coupon and said 'You have to purchase 3 of these to receive the $5 off'. I retorted 'I have been using this coupon for 4 months and I have only purchased one container each time. If you run it across the scanner and it applies to my purchase don't you think that makes it legit?' He then refused to run it and I conceded mentioning I'd just speak with the manager. I proceeded to guest services, asked for a manager who then informed me that I was trying to commit coupon fraud. Coupon fraud?! What the h*ll lady--I am just trying to do something that I have been doing for the past 4 months! And your system is so d*mn perceptive that it continues to give me the discount AND gives me another coupon. I told her if I was trying to commit coupon fraud why the h*ll would I have asked for a manager?
I finally got frustrated and told her, fine, I would just go down the road to Meijer who has it for $5 less without a coupon anyhow. Target just lost a very valuable customer. For those of you out there with little ones you know how much formula is and how often you have to purchase it. Makes me kind of sad--I really liked this Target...
