I am an employee of Target Corporation at a Super Target here in Utah. I can understand your frustrations and pain that your situation has caused you. I hope that I can help you with some suggestions: 1- Getting a free credit report either online or through a credit bureau would help you in understanding which SSN# they put in the applicaton. A credit report will list all of your current accounts (credit cards, loans, mortgages, and so on.) I know one of the major credit bureau's that Target goes through is Equifax Financial Services (equifax.com). 2- By calling the Target Guest Credit services and asking a live representative if you have/had and account from Target opened they should be able to tell you by your SSN# and some other info given to them. (1-800-659-2396) 3- This is just a general suggestion for all people applying for ANY credit card. When there is someone other than you entering in the application ask them to read you off the information that they have typed in to make sure that the name, SSN#, Address, and other info has been typed in correctly. I read off the information I have typed in every time I type in a Target Credit Application to ensure that the right info is being sent. We have to make sure human mistakes are at the minimum.
