All of the comments made by the Pro-TOD are the same ones made at every tuesday night meeting.

Nobody has a mind of there own, they only know what they have been told to tell. I went to 3 meetings and at first thought it was a great idea. They always talk about walmart and the steps of distrubtion. It sounds good the way they present it. There presentation sounds something like this " WE have taken sam walton's idea one step further. We have totally removed the distribution chain and we save tons by removing the middle men. It gets even betteryou can get rich and have everything you ever wanted."

That sounds good, but once you sign up and are finally allowed to look at the website, you find that peanut butter is 19 dollars a jar. Stop and think about this... They say they save all this money on the distribution, then why in the world is peanut butter 19 freaking dollars. The answer somebody is getting rich and its not me.

Another thing that bothered me about these meetings is they dont try and sell you the bussiness, what they do instead is try to sell you the idea that this is the answer to your dreams. Litterally at one meeting they had us write on paper things that you would love to have. What they do is build up your excitment and tell you that you can have these things, without working. To the average idiot that sounds great. Sign me up!!

And to respond to the people that say they dont make money on the optional books and tapes. HOG WASH! The books and tapes are optional but ESSENTIAL. That doesnt sound optional now does it! IT is optional if you want to fail. They have ways of wording things and getting around the truth. Think about this. I listen to a tape telling how to answer objections people had... the tape gave word for word answers. Like i stated before nobody knows how to respond other than what they have been told say. You hear the same things all the time. BRAINWASHED I SAY

I have alot more to say about this TOD. I hope I have helped some people to realize this well crafted play on peoples dreams.

remember these two things and you will be ok

1. Nothing is free and things come by hard honest work 2. Peanut butter is only 1.95 at Walmrt

Feeding myself from the neck up

#2Consumer Comment

Wed, February 09, 2005

In response to those who think TOD (the-team.biz) is a rip off, I'd like to offer a few well-intended words of advice. It is my opinion that if I get NOTHING else out of my The-Team experience than the knowledge from the leadership & relationship books & tapes (cd's), that is no financial freedom, no diamondship, no fancy mansion in Grand Blanc MI, etc, that I'm still dollars ahead. From my 6-month relationship with The-Team, I've discovered John C. Maxwell, Dale Carnegie, Frank Bettger, Florence Littauer, Gary Chapman, Les Giblin - and many other great books. By reading these books (many of which come on audiotape) I have learned a huge amount that has helped me in my corporate american career. Bear in mind that in 15 years of being in senior management, my corporate bosses have NEVER invested a penny in my personal growth, it's always been on my dime. After all the reading I've done towards becoming a true leader, I am now able to articulate everything that's good & bad with my management team, and am dead certain that this new knowledge can take me places I had never dreamed of. Relationship management is another area that has improved with the reading & listening to audio tapes. I've become smarter and more skilled in relationship management, and practice what I'm learning every day to hone them to a finer edge. My years in corporate america have never yielded such results, and neither did my years in state college. The bottom line is this: growing ourselves from the neck upwards is the key to realizing our dreams and achieving our goals. Being successful in The-Team is merely a fringe benefit to growing our hearts and minds larger. Thanks for letting me share my rebuttal with the readers of your excellent blog. Sincerely, Russ in the San Francisco Bay Area of California

TOD why not borrow books or tapes?

#3Consumer Suggestion

Wed, February 02, 2005

If all these people in TOD are truely trying to help you why don't they let borrow or pay a small refundable deposit for all these books and tapes. Maybe i'm old fashioned but that seems like it would be the right thing to do

Team of Destiny and a well run Customer Service Dept

#7Consumer Comment

Thu, January 13, 2005

Team of Destiny (TOD) has a Customer Service Department and anyone that is an IBO in that team knows the number and can call and get a problem worked out. I'm an IBO in that team and called the Customer Service Department about 6 months ago. They were friendly and helpful. It's a well run department. I suspect that individuals that have filed complaints on this rip-off website about Team of Destiny are simply people from competitive MLMs making up stories. If, however, one of these complaints is legit, that person should talk to their upline and get their problem resolved. Stewing about it won't help. No business is perfect. That's why it's important to have a good Customer Service Department like TOD.

But You Have Misled

#8Consumer Comment

Fri, July 23, 2004

But Mike, you have misled in your attempt to be sarcastic. I have been checking out TOD for over a year. Without being an IBO, I have attended weekly meetings and major functions. I do not recall anyone stating, other than maybe "Hot Buys", "Clearance Items", or "Promotions", that Quixtar saves the consumer tons of money on product prices. It has been stated that some products are priced higher, some lower, some about the same. It has been stated that by eliminating some steps in the distribution chain, is where the money comes from, and that they provide an opportunity for some of that money to be returned to the consumer as income, via being a Quixtar IBO. It has been stated that how much is returned to the individual IBO, is determined by their own individual performance.

TOD is deceptive ..Dreams are good to have and can serve to motivate. But there is a difference between being motivated and having them exploited

Thank you for writing a rebuttal, I have been checking everyday since I wrote the thing, and I was starting to get disappointed that nobody was responding. What I wrote about peanut butter was sarcasm. I thought it was pretty strong sarcasm. You missed the major point that I was trying to convey, which was the products sold through TOD are generally more expensive (some a little more, some a lot more). What makes this wrong is that the company's foundational selling point is that they are able to handle and sell products for less because they eliminate the distribution cost. So if they handle peanut butter or any other product cheaper than Wal-Mart it should, at the very least be the same price as Wal-Mart. If not then someone is making a killing on people who are willing to pay more for cheaper products. This was the point I was trying to make and I wasn't trying to mislead anyone. Distribution is getting the product from manufacturer to consumer. TOD says that's out of here, we have saved you tons . Think about who pays to get the product for the manufacturer to their doorstep. The CONSUMER, 19.95 shipping and handling on the four jars of peanut butter he didn't want. (more sarcasm) So really TOD has just shifted the weight to someone else's shoulder. And who wants four jars of peanut butter anyway. Unless you are going to buy them for your cousins as Christmas gifts. (Irrelevant humor) I'm sure your time is worth more to you than the 2 dollars you may save on some product, but what about a shopping cart full of things, that TOD has convinced you to pay too much for. And on top of that you can't just bag them and walk out of the store; you have to pay Fed Ex to deliver them to you. Dreams. Dreams are good to have and can serve to motivate. But there is a difference between being motivated and having them exploited. The TEAM has a great tool that they are very careless with, and that is exploiting of peoples dreams to cause them to act in beneficial way. Here is a real life example I went to the meetings and heard the same thing over and over, it was always about having your dreams fulfilled while you sit on your private beach sipping tea. There is no talk of the inner workings of the business, about the website, the cost of the products, I didn't even know that you were buying things in bulk. The point here is the business takes second place to peoples dreams when it comes to selling the Bussiness. They only way this business has stayed alive this long is people want everything now and they want to put the least amount of effort into it. TOD figured out how to exploit peoples dreams as a way of recruiting fresh new suckers. One other thing before I close, people like to get out, even if it is only to buy things at the store. TOD will never replace that human contact that people get when they go to a physical store. Once again thank you for your response to my posting.

Where did you find this $19.00 jar of peanut butter? I knew you were mistaken, but you made me check just to be sure . I not sure what you may have looked at, but a jar of peanut butter only costs $3.45. Thats for a 28 oz jar of either crunchy or smooth, your choice. I took a look in my cabinets, and found a jar of store bought peanut butter. I payed $3.49 for a 16 oz jar of JIF. I'm sure that same jar I have, could have been purchased cheaper somewhere other than where I bought it. That kinda proves a point to me, and that point is: I really didn't care about the price and saving a ton of money by shopping around for the cheapest jar of peanut butter. I probably got it at the store nearest to me. My time is worth a whole lot more to me than the possible two dollars I could have saved by researching into who has the best sale going on peanut butter. I won't say nobody, but I'm sure there are very few people who have gain a great deal of wealth or freedom from clipping coupons and running to 5 different stores to take advantage of there individual sales. Through the TOD website, you will have to buy 4 jars at a time. That equals $13.80. I'm not sure what you thought you saw for $19.00, but I know it wasn't a single jar of peanut butter. Everyone has a right to vent their opinion, but please check your facts in the future. I would hate for a non-TOD-er to mislead anyone. Some people may be brainwashed at some point in their journey with TOD, but thats generally due to a lack of proper education with this or any business. If you don't get the answer you need to succeed, seek them out from a different source. All the tapes are a basic instruction on how to get started with the business. Nothing is etched in stone. You will develope your own character and ways of doing things through education. As far as the "dream" side of the TOD goes, we as people, need something to motivate us to get things done. If I can ask anyone who may read this a question: What motivates you to leave your house in the morning or whenever you leave for work. Your job, the bills you need to pay, the money you need to survive. If thats the case, then that "job" ownes you. You are making the boss richer than he's making you. d**n us few that long for something more than being nothing more than mere slaves to the plantation owner(boss). Maybe this won't pan out in the future, maybe I won't be able to tell my boss that he can "take this job and shove it." But if we don't try now or sometime, then we have already determined our future. The boss will always be standing over top of you. We should all go in and thank our bosses for allowing us the oportunity to make him more money than we can make while under his employement. I have not been instructed to tell you this, I took this task upon myself. These are my thoughts and beliefs, not my upline mentors. We are who we strive to be, nothing more, nothing less. No one can take that away from any of us, unless we give it to them freely. Thats it, I'm done now. And I truely hope this helps at least one person make a better educated choice.
