TECHNOdigital.com Bait and Switch New York NY
I used a popular search engine to fine a particular camera. TECHNOdigital.com was listed as #2 of six different sources. It was the the cheapest price and since the search engine recommended the site -- I went with it. I placed my order online and when submitted, I was contacted by email and instructed to telephone to confirm my order within 24 hours, so they could get my order shipped out to me as soon as possible. Once I contacted them, an agressive salesman starting trying to sell me a scandisk and then a rechargeable battery, both at extremely high prices. I declined and he said your order is confirmed and disconnected the telephone conversation. It felt like I was getting the bait and switch,but waited an hour before I tried contacting the TECHNOdigital again and after going through a number of keypad options - got the same individual that answered earlier. I asked if he could confirm my order via email - he said he would and immediately disconnected the telephone conversation. I waited an hour and NO email confirmation. I called again - same recording guiding me through a number of keypad options - until I got an answer. Funny, it was the same individual from the two earlier telephone calls. I asked about the email confirmation and he said my camera was on backorder between 6-8 weeks. That he just sent me an email. I did receive the email, but the grammar was all wrong -- which caused some concern. Nevertheless, I contacted the search engine to notify them and I am contacting you to log this report. I will be monitoring my credit card bill to make sure no charges are made and really believe this company is NOT on the up and up.
