Techondigital, Aka The Camera Whiz, Aka J & J Digital If ONLY I had read the ripoff reports first!! Got duped on a GPS purchase Brooklyn New York
Ordered a Garmin Nuvi205W online at a seemingly great price. I also got the email like everyone else to call and confirm my order. Only they called me and the rep said I forgot to order the memory card for the Garmin. I'll admit I am a novice about a GPS. The rep said I needed the card to download updated info when it was available and if I didn't order the $99 2GB memory card I would have to send the unit back to Garmin for an update and it would cost me $150.
I agreed to the card figuring it would contain updated maps, etc. Of course the card I received was some no-name SD digital camera card that probably sells for $10. I also already own a few of these cards (name brand) for my digital camera.
In addition, my order was placed 7/01/08, my credit card charged on 7/05, and (to my amazement) the items were received on 7/22!!! So much for 5-7 business day shipping! I ordered from Techondigital, payment and invoice are from The Camera Whiz, and shipping label is J & J Digital. All are at the same address also.
Fortunately I got the item I ordered but lost $99 in order to get it. Stay away from this company. They are BAD news!!
