Teleport Communications Group tried to scam me Dallas Texas
I am a musician who offers live music for events. I have been the target of scams like this one previously in which someone offers to hire me to provide music but contacts me by email or text (in this case). I reply that I need to talk on the phone but they offer an excuse why that is not possible, and want to go ahead without even knowing what my fee would be. "...just take care of it".
The English is usually bad, a tip off. I have been fortunate enough not to fall for it, but I fear they may succeed with others who may not be suspicious.
Not sure why the call came from this phone # and business, but noticed there were previous complaints, seemingly for the same business, by name anyway.
Contacte the FTC by email, but don't know if anything can or will be done. Hoping maybe to expose the scam and save others from being ripped off.
