Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Templatic are scammers and a total rip off.

1. Highly overpriced themes and membership.

2. Bug/glitch filled themes (ALL OF THEM) these are sloppy coding areas perhaps due to rushing themes out to be sold. Some bugs have been known to pose a huge security risk - granting anyone access to your wordpress dashboard and admin only areas!

3. Very bad customer service - they will waste your time asking the same questions repeatedly. They are not all equipped to respond to technical questions yet they will sit there and guess randomly or give other unhelpful/unrelated responses until finally asking someone with the technical knowledge. One time the advice of a customer service rep actually caused irrepairable damage to my website databases corrupting everything and causing me to delete the entire site and start anew.

4. Poor communication everywhere - you won't understand them and they wont understand you = lots of wasted time just trying to explain your question/problem.

5. Bad business practices - Templatic engages in questionable business practices such as false advertising and  spamming to give themselves perfect ratings to counteract the huge amount of bad ratings people give them. Despite the efforts in spamming they still have a very low rating. Imagine what their rating would be without all the perfect spam ratings...

Some additional thoughts?

Even someone with a technical web background such as myself has wasted weeks in order to try and troubleshoot their theme and get it to function without basic features causing crashes, errors, and all manner of security risks.

I've used hundreds of other themes with small issues and bugs but NEVER the size and frequency compared to templatic.

Templatic is a rip off in almost every way possible. Stay away at all costs.

Hi there

While I do believe you had a really crappy experience with our products and services (you wouldn't be filling this otherwise), I'd just like to say that there is a pretty big gap between a lousy experience and a scam. Templatic has been on the market for 6 years now and during that time we've helped thousands create websites. Something tells me we wouldn't have lasted that long if we were in fact scamming everyone.

When it comes to the points you've made...

  1. Our themes are adequately priced for what they offer. I've seen more people call them bargains than ripoffs.
  2. Bugs are possible (and likely to happen) in virtually every piece of software, our themes are no different. What matters is that we aim to fix each and every one of them; and that's exactly what we've been doing.
  3. Our support staff is more than equipped to answer your question. However, there is a language barrier that sometimes causes problems for both you and us. It sucks, we know, but with none of us being native English speakers, it's bound to happen.
  4. Same cause as number 3.
  5. We do not false advertise or send spam. Our newsletter list contains only emails from our own user database (people who purchased a Templatic theme). Opting out of the newsletter is possible within each individual email (we 100% comply with the CAN-SPAM Act).

Lastly, I'd just like to say that we provide a test site for all our products. Each potential customer can use the test site to see how the theme works and whether or not he/she can use it for their site. Bottom line, if you're interested in a Templatic theme, don't listen to me, don't listen to the OP. Check out the demo, check out the test site and decide for yourself.
