On its Facebook page, The Christian Left promotes incentives for donors who make contributions through Paypal. I was one donor, and made my contribution on May 26, based on the proviso that in reciprocity TCL would send particular merchandise. The Christian Left failed to deliver, and instead issued numerous stalls such as "we'll be shipping in the next two weeks," etc. They did this to buy time until Paypal's 45-day window for filing a claim had expired, leaving me without recourse. Furthermore, by arranging this as a "donation in exchange for merchandise" rather than just a sale to BUY the merchandise, they are further protected from complaints via Paypal.

Once the 45 days were up, in order to prevent me from revealing that they had reneged on their own offer, they simply blocked me from being to post on their Facebook wall, even though my only correspondence with them was to inquire about the delayed shipments of merchandise. They have declined to reply to any of my inquiries about the situation.

I later found, through an archived page of their blog, that in September of 2011 they had assured donors that the promised merchandise (a shirt, to be specific) "would ship very soon." So The Christian Left has been doing this for at least a year as of this posting! Apparently, nobody has EVER received the promotional shirts that The Christian Left uses to bait donors, and I've found that many people have confirmed to me that they too were simply "silenced" from The Christian Left's Facebook page upon posting an inquiry about the matter.

Then why...?

Interesting response, Mr. Toy. I did get my shirt--after a YEAR. And that's after multiple "they're shipping next week" promises. So I have to ask, why'd you ban me from your page, when all I'd done was simply try to contact you to ask about the status? No rudeness, no bad language, just trying to ask a fair question. Instead of the decency of a simple answer, you guys just shut me down so you wouldn't have to reply. So yeah, that's why you got a ripoff report, because you couldn't just be decent about the matter. You can't treat people so shabbily.

Folks Always Get Their Shirts

#3REBUTTAL Owner of company

I am the true owner of The Christian Left, along with several other folks.

As we say on our t-shirt offer:

"Important note: We are a small operation; definitely not Amazon.com. We produce and fulfill these shirts on a quarterly basis. Please be patient as you wait to receive your shirt. Be assured, everyone who orders a shirt gets a shirt.  We request that you don't order shirts expecting to receive them by a particular date like Birthdays or Christmas.  Thanks.

If you ordered a shirt and did not receive it, send an e-mail to [email protected] -- Enter ** Backorder LTN Shirt ** in the subject field, and give us your name, address, size request, and the approximate date you placed your order.  We'll make sure you get your shirt."

-- How to Order "Love Thy Neighbor" t-shirts by The Christian Left

We just sent out our most recent batch.  We are aware of 2 or 3 problem orders, but other than that we have fulfilled every order placed to date.

Thanks,
