I recieved a call from the College Prep Center company telling me that my daughter had signed up for the SAT/ACT study program at her high school. Because I was not certain as to whether or not my daughter signed up for such a thing I questioned the person (Michael Brock). In a persuasive manner the man insisted that extra help his company could provide would beneficial. He even guaranteed it. This I found to be strange. I was then told if my daughter didn't use it or it did not help her that the material could be returned. He then stated the material would cost $119.00 and some odd cents. I then stated that I did not want to order the materials. He then stated there was a return guarnetee of 30 days. I told him I did not want the materials once more. He then stated that he would extend the return date to 60 days. I told him to check back with me the next week and made it clear I did not want to purchase this material. I did not order the materials. After returning from a Fastpitch turnament (May 25, 2007) I found two boxes from the College Prep Center, which I did not order.

On June 11, 2007 I called the company to return the materials, which were not opened. I spoke with a hostile young woman that tried to talk me out of wanting to send the materials back. She too wanted to extend the materials. I told her I did not want them. She informed me that I could not send the items back. I told her I had not ordered them. She then stated that she had two different credit card numbers with two different dates. The first date she claims I ordered on was May 3, 2007. I called my credit card companies there was a transaction made by The College Prep Center on May 6, 2007 and another on May 8, 2007. The mailing lablel dates read: May 9, 2007 and May 17, 2007. I did not get this material until May 25, 2007.

Futhermore they sent one of the materials to my daughter who does not have a credit card. I returned all merchandise.and reported all this information to my credit card companies. Another concern I have is where did they get my daughters information. She was only a junior in high school at the time. Futhermore Mr. Brock did give me a return number 143008 and so did some lady. Once again I did not order two of these materials and have been ripped off. I did not go over my time limit. I did try to return and was given return address numbers. The dates don't make sense. I want my cards credited and this company charged with violating minors privacy rights. Where did they get this list? No invoices came with the materials, this is odd.

My name is Lori, Dispute Manager of The College Prep Center, thank you for this opportunity to address some concerns of Lorna; We contacted this customer May 2007. While filling out a "Form of Interests", her daughter like other college bound high school students had expressed an interest in taking the ACT/SAT test. Lorna states that she did not order the product. We would not have sent the materials to her had she not agreed to the sale, by giving us the necessary billing and mailing information. In regards to two orders for the same product; it is a rarity for our company to contact our customers more than once. Also it is not uncommon for the software to be addressed to the student, since they will be the one using the product. This customer claims that she received both packages on the same day May 25, 2007. According to the tracking from the U.S. Postal Service, package #1 was delivered to her on May 11, 2007, package #2 on May 19,2007. Yes she notified us June 11, 2007 indicating that she wanted to return the product, which is over the 30 day trial period for the first package. We would like to apologize for the phone conversation she had with the Customer Service Representative. Our company has made quite a few changes in our personnel since her conversation last June. Our current staff adheres to the policies and ethics of The College Prep Center Inc., I only wish they would've been on board at the time of Lorna's call. Hopefully this will help to alleviate any concerns she or anyone else may have in regards to our company's credibility. Thank You....
