Jacksonville,#2Consumer Suggestion

Unfortunately, they are well within their legal rights to attempt to collect this debt IF it is valid. The company being out of business does NOT make the bill go away. Being disabled also is not a legal defense - you agreed to pay the bill when you took out the charge card with no mention in the contract that you would not have to pay if you became disabled. I would suggest you proactively contact the agency or law firm in question and work out payment arrangements or a reduced settlement of the balance. Good Luck!
