The Works Store-western wear Fidel - Owner Sammy-Fidel's crook Sammy Sold us two pair of "Italian Made" boots requiring half down $330.00. 1 Year later no boots Stockton California
On Saturday August 12, 2016 my husband & I purchased two pair of "Italian Made" special order boots from The Works located at 7123 Pacific Avenue, Suite A, Stockton, California 95204.
Sammy represented himself as an owner that day. Because the boots were special order from Italy we had to pay UP FRONT over half of the $630.00 charge for the boots. We paid $ 330.00 down payment and were to receive our boots in 6-8 weeks.
The boots did not come in 8 weeks and by then it was too late to dispute the charge on our credit card. (in retrospect I believe the 6-8 week time frame was to get beyond the credit card dispute cutoff).
Over the past 14 months we have called and spoken to Sammy & The real owner (we believe) Fidel, who both on many occasions promised the boots will be shipped that day. It actually got so bad after about 8 calls to them they gave us their cell #'s (Sammy 862-336-0070 / Fidel 209-251-5050) and promised to ship out some extra products, socks etc. to make up for the inconvenience and time lapse since we paid for the boots over a year before.
Finally in June 2017 Fidel shipped one pair of boots-mans boots- that were a full size too small for my husband, even though Sammy measured us both very carefully because these boots were to be special made.
Before my husband tried the boots on, we called and inquired about the woman's special order boots and we were told to "sue me" by Fidel, knowing it would cost almost as much for us to sue them as the boots cost in the first place. 1st rule of litigation: make sure their is enough at stake to warrant the cost of suit.
This is not an acceptable way for any business to treat customers. Please help to stop this illegal fraud and bait and switch policy this store is practicing by not doing business with them.
