I purchased a projector with attached rebate from Tigerdirect.com on Dec 21st.

I pulled together all the forms and filled them out correctly...checked them a million times to make sure all info was correct and submitted forms via CERTIFIED MAIL before the expiration on the 50$ rebate passed.

Post Office confirmed delivery of certified mail two days later to rebate company. Feeling as if there was nothing more to do, I made a mark on my calendar for 8 weeks later. At that point I would start looking for the check.

Every week I input my customer data into the rebatestatus.com website and every week it reported "Data Not Found".

At week 8 I emailed their help desk via form three times. The third time finally resulted in a reply:

"Thank you for your recent inquiry regarding the status of your rebate. We never received your rebate. Please fax the confirmation of certified mail, and all the documents you mailed in. I do apologize for the inconvenience. Please allow 10-14 business days for us to process your fax and create a rebate for you. Please include the following information with your fax:"

How much more idiotic does this have to get? The CURRENT rebate system is customer unfriendly and as a result I will never purchase another item from Tiger Direct ever again. Is that a good way to do business?

It's been officially 16 weeks since the rebate was SENT and RECEIVED via CERTIFIED MAIL and been over 4 weeks since I FAXED them every thing THEY LOST.

Sure, 50$ isn't much, but what about those folks who are going through this with 100$ or more in rebates? REBATESTATUS.COM is a joke. Don't BUY ANYTHING FROM TIGER DIRECT.

If a rebatestatus.com employee cruises by, understand that I should not have to submit this information to you 5 times to receive a 50$ rebate. At this point, you guys owe me money for having to stay on top of your asses. You'll be getting my bill, via CERTIFIED REGISTERED INSURED MAIL any day now, and then I'll fax it, email it, send it by smoke signal, morse code, instant message all because you'll lose it in the first place.

After 25 heated emails between myself and the rebate company rebatestatus.com/Inphonics, I scoured RipoffReport for ALL emails connected to TigerDirect and finally found a person who actually responded. Two days later my check arrived. Friday, I sent a polite email to all of those addresses I had found, expressing my problems with Inphonics, and Mr. Strunk ([email protected]) wrote back. He had a check sent out UPS next day air on Monday. It's Tuesday and I'm looking at the check right now on my desk. Yes, folks, that's a 50$ check sent out to me with a cost of what? A minimum of 15$ in shipping fees? I understand Tigerdirect ships over 25K products a day, and that they can't always hire the most efficient staff (luck of the draw in any corporation), but there are a few gems in the mix and I hope everyone understands that. TigerDirect really need to stop doing business with Inphonics. I personally will never purchase another product that is connected with those criminals (Inphonics). Any Inphonics employee that writes back here to defend the company will be met with full on laughter, so don't bother. Your company is right up their with Walmart. Pure Evil. I hope it goes down...big time. Good luck with that class action suit!

For the last 4 weeks of emailing them, I get this today: --- Dear Stampede Presentation Products Consumer: Thank you for your recent inquiry regarding the status of your rebate. We did not receive your original rebate submission. The X1A R $50 rebate was for purchases made between 7/28/05-11/30/05. The last submission date was 12/30/2005. This promotion was closed for customer service on 03/30/2006. Our records indicate that this promotion has expired. Unfortunately, we are not in a position to assist you further with an expired promotion. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If you wish to pursue this rebate further, we suggest you contact the retailer directly. Thank you for contacting us. Customer Contact Center inphonic.rebatestatus.com ----------------------- They can't even get the product seller right. I purchsed from TIGERDIRECT. They keep telling me a rebate that ISN'T expired IS and that's illegal. The form I filled out from Tigerdirect is a legal document that Rebatestatus and tigerdirect must adhere to. Not paying out a rebate that is filled out within all correct parameters should be illegal. AGAIN, DO NOT EVER buy from tigerdirect.com or purchase any item that uses INPHONICS REBATESTATUS.COM as the method of rebate retrieval. And if you do, prepare for a headache, one way or another.

I received a personal message today from rebatestatus.com via a person named Liz. She was helpful in that she's a human being responding to my distraught emails, however, her company's answer to my rebate being delayed is by far the most condescending, inane response I have EVER heard from a corporate entity. Their final answer: (they think it's final, I don't) "The rebate was expired in November 31st, 2005." How is a rebate that states it's good for purchases from 12/1/05 to 12/31/05 and has a send in expiration of January 31st, 2006 on the paperwork EXPIRED? You CANNOT treat customers like they're idiots, REBATESTATUS.COM. I smell a class action lawsuit forming...I'm looking for one right now. I might have to start my own.
