The name of the owners are Richard and Helen Ting. I have witnessed that they engage in illegal work practices at their lab location in South Philadelphia. First, they refuse to interview and hire people of color, specifically African-American job candidates (which is a violation of civil rights laws). Richard Ting was very specific that he did not want African-American people working for his company. After I was hired with the company, I was deceptively lied to as to how I would receive my paycheck. When I received my first paycheck, the owner stated that he forgot to tell me that my pay would be in the form of a 1099 for the first 90 days. There was no employment agreement presented to me that stated the terms and conditions of employment. No taxes were being withheld from my paycheck.

As I was approaching my 90 days of employment, Mr. Ting released me from the job stating that he was financially in the negative and could no longer afford to pay me. Afterwards, I noticed that he was doing the same thing with other employees hired with the company. Another illegal practice is that Mr. Ting does not charge sales tax to customers that purchase his orthodontic products. As a result, it appears that Mr. Ting does not pay State sales tax to any State where he does business nor any other sales taxes that may be required by the City of Philadelphia. I would advise anyone seeking employment or thinking about purchasing products from this company to steer clear of doing any business with Ting Orthodontic Lab, Inc./Ting Dental Supply,LLC. It is a nightmare!!!

Well, it is obvious that the previous rebuttal to this post is a response out of fear of being exposed and fear of possibly losing their business. Mr. Ting never writes his own content, he and his wife often order their employees to do their dirty work for them. Richard Ting has often been quoted accusing americans of being lazy workers and not wanting to work during legal holidays. His philosophy is similar to that of a slave driver mentality. Well, Mr. Ting, unless you would like to get up to speed with the labor laws in this country, hard-working americans are entitled to their hard-earned legal holidays off in this country. And, maybe you should realize that there are many hard-working americans who chose to work on legal holidays.

On at least 3 occasions, Mr. Ting ordered his manager not to interview and hire any african-americans to work for his company. When the manager refused, he had his 19 year old son screen out the resumes behind the scenes and schedule interviews for his own chosen candidates. What a funny coincidence that these people happened to be of asian descent. If you walk into his lab, you will notice that most of his workers are not of american descent and you will not find one employee of african-american descent. I question whether half of his employees are of legal status to work in the United States.

Richard and Helen Ting are both racists and their previous rebuttal is a lie for fear of being exposed for their own civil rights violations. Readers, I emphasize that you can do your own research and find that what is stated in the content of this post is 100% correct. I urge that all customers who do business with this company to please STOP doing business with this company. This is NOT what america is all about. Americans of all color, ethnicity, religion, etc. have the legal right by law to live and work where they choose in this country. It's obvious that Mr. and Mrs. Ting need to be re-educated, perhaps the hard way.

I have been an employee at this company for several months and have communicated with and/or met predecessors that will also reinforce that this report is a blatant lie written by a certain discontented ex-employee. Richard and Helen Ting have never engaged in illegal or unmorally ethical practices. Mr. and Mrs. Ting have interviewed, employed, and worked alongside and for people from many different backgrounds, to which former and current employees can absolutely attest. To state that Mr. Ting has rejected African-American candidates is grossly fictitious. Discrimination will never be tolerated here at Ting Orthodontic Lab & Supply and Mr. Ting has previously released an employee due to the employee’s prejudice disposition.

Ting Orthodontic Lab & Supply has never violated any state tax terms nor have finances ever intervened with the status of anyone’s employment; former employees have relinquished their roles at-will or have been terminated due to matters relating to their job performance. In the state of Pennsylvania, sales tax is NOT imposed on Dental materials, Dental supplies, or Orthodontic brackets.

New employees agree upon hire about their responsibilities and pay schedule (whether weekly or biweekly). Payroll tax is initially paid by the employer based on individual specified earnings and the appropriate IRS formed is then filed on the employee’s behalf. Ting Orthodontic Lab & Supply has operated successfully for over 30 years without complication or dissent from any administration, employee, or our wonderful customers.
