I , along with other students who attended this beauty school were treated unfairly and were treated with verbal abuse by the owner of this institution by the name of Lydia Leung. Not only did she not teach us what we needed for our careers in esthetics, she took our money , and did not help us to prepare for our state exams. In turn, we had to shell out money from our own pockets to take lessons from another institution to help us prepare for our exams.

All she did was yell at us, pressured us into buying her products, verbally abused us, and not help us prepare for our exams. Our fee for the whole course was $4800. we have tried calling them and asking for our money back or partially. We got no repsonse, the only explanation we received from her husband, who is her partner, was "I am sorry she treated you unfairly and yelled at you, I know she has a bad temper, but we will get back to you. No one got back to us. All we wanted was learn and prepare for our exams and Lydia Leung took advantage of all our us.

She would fabricate stories and lie to her students that if we don't listen to her, she will make sure we don't pass the exams and she will not help us in any way.

I just don't understand what kind of person she is for treating us this unfairly. I need to know how I can go about this. Most of the students are chinese and they are not as knowledgable and as educated, therefore, she took advantage of that. She is a liar! a thief! and she is not worth being in this business!

Complaint is fabricated

This complaint was brought to our attention via forwarded e-mail by an unknown corporation.

First, most of the facts claimed in the report were fabricated.  I, as the manager in the business, recall such an incident arising from a credit card charge-back.  I successfully reversed the charge-back when we offered our explanations verses the complainants similar claims to the credit card company.

But, as good customer relationship practice, we offered a small refund to the complainant to offset the fee she allegedly paid to an outside agency for the special training she mentioned.  The facts were that the complainant was pregnant during the training period and missed a considerable amount of time in learning the esthetics knowledge and skill.  The teacher, Ms. Leung, while very serious in her profession, specifically required the complainant to make up the lessons she missed, including not offering the two special lessons for preparing her for the State Board practical examinations should she failed to do the make up lessons.  The complainant obviously was very unhappy and went to outside help, passed the examination and obtained her license.

Tinny Beauty was established in 1977.  Its founder, Ms. Lydia Leung, has been a great educator in esthetics for over 20 years. If the complainants claims in the report were true, how can Ms. Leung and her business survive for 32 years ?!

I truly believe the complainant, after her credit card charge-back being reversed, was upset about the incident and wanted to convey her view to Ms. Leung, but via an improper channel that Ms. Leung did not have a chance to read it.
