Titan Custom Golf Sales Scam, Asked to evaluate golf clubs with free driver as incentive. Charged for full set. Illegally! BBB Revoked Syracuse New York
I was contacted by Titan Custom Golf to evaluate their new set of clubs for 30 days. As an incentive to completing the evaluation, i would be awarded the driver of the set of clubs. The sales representative asked several questions about my golf game and asked for $19.95 to cover shipment of the clubs to me and back to them, which I did agree to.
I received the clubs. Played one round of golf and went to the driving range.
I called the customer service line on my paper work and Cheryl (Secretary) walked through the evaluation with me (about 20 questions). She then told me that her manager was not available to authorize the Return Authorization Number and told me to email Dave Weldon at [email protected]. Which I did that day.
The next day I noticed the full price of the clubs was charged to my credit card. I only authorized them to charge 19.95 for shipping. I also got a response to my email that stated since I was satisfied with the golf clubs I was obligated to buy them. I at no time agreed to pay for them or intended to buy them. I was told this was an evalution of clubs for consumer feedback.
I tried to call Mr. Dave Weldon and we had a meeting scheduled, through his secretary. He never showed to our meetings which have been rescheduled three times due to his failure to appear.
As of today, the numbers I have for the company are disconnected and I cannot get any response to my emails.
I have filed complaints with my bank, the BBB and the FTC.

It seems that none of the published numbers are working for Titan Custom Golf. A new number I located is 315-218-0541. It goes to a VM system. I also located an email address of [email protected] on craigslist in a posting for a Admin Assistant. I am not sure if this company is still in business or not.
